I hope devouring the entrails of the main NPC last night helped lift you outta the murk for a bit. It was glorious to watch. 🧟‍♀️🥰

For me, it's Herzog's NOSFERATU THE VAMPIRE which may also be my favorite horror movie of all time. But I definitely gotta check out this Copolla adaptation!

Kiddo has a meltdown at work. Me: you've gotta learn how to process your emotions without just immediately turning to electronics. Me (after work): I'm sure I can get 6 hours of gaming in before I need to sleep. #maybeineedapara

Holy moly! This is awesome! Did you ever play Wattam? That and Katamary are two of my favorite games of all time!

He's perfect. My hope is that everyone's character is bringing them as much laughter as we have with our fucked up Muppets.

Brigid O'Shaughnessy @rvxen.bsky.social · 22/02/2025

LOLZ! Gobbless this game's character creation! What is with your teeth?! I'm in tears, this is spectacular.

Brigid O'Shaughnessy @rvxen.bsky.social · 20/02/2025

I had a belief when I was a kid that people lived until they blew out the candles on their 100th birthday cake and then immediately collapsed. I gave up on that belief when my great-grandfather lived until he was 107.

010

Brigid O'Shaughnessy @rvxen.bsky.social · 20/02/2025

Welcome to the Living Lands! It's goofy, sometimes clunky, sometimes breathtaking but overall honest and earnest in being its own game. Can't wait to hear of your adventures!

110

Brigid O'Shaughnessy @rvxen.bsky.social · 19/02/2025

The animancy stuff is really fun!

110

Brigid O'Shaughnessy @rvxen.bsky.social · 19/02/2025

My jam, tho your character is an Imperial Envoy to a colony, is making all the anti-imperialist choices bc the NPCs are all like, oh you're not a jerk, that's refreshing, and anyone in power screams at my decisions, lol

010

Brigid O'Shaughnessy @rvxen.bsky.social · 19/02/2025

Particularly, I enjoy that you can be a total goofball in your dialogue choices and there's one main conflict early on that if you resolve peacefully, numerous later NPCs reflect that in their interactions with you. So diplomacy actually has merit.

110

Brigid O'Shaughnessy @rvxen.bsky.social · 19/02/2025

I think that comparisons to Skyrim and BG3 are unavoidable, however, there are a lot of game mechanics that I find incredibly refreshing and more fluid than the other two. The crafting is way more streamlined and you can't just spam it to level up. Everything has a function that's useful.

Brigid O'Shaughnessy @rvxen.bsky.social · 19/02/2025

I'm really digging Avowed so far along with acknowledging that there is a need for a few patches, one of which has already been sent out. One of the main companions is basically Billy Crystal but with poor timing due to having to cut to him saying the line, lol.

Is this like how Sergio Aragones "killed" Marty Feldman?

000

Brigid O'Shaughnessy @rvxen.bsky.social · 17/02/2025

Other excuses they've given: "You're insurance says you're too old to take this med." "We don't have a record of you taking this med." "You shouldn't have gotten a message saying we filled your meds bc we haven't filled your meds." Linear time is not their concern.

010

Brigid O'Shaughnessy @rvxen.bsky.social · 17/02/2025

Hy-Vee pharmacy exists outside of time and space. That's the only reason I can think of for them telling me in the morning they didn't get a refill notice from my docs, to the afternoon saying, quote, "we have no idea why this wasn't filled." Every month a battle to sync up timelines.

Brigid O'Shaughnessy @rvxen.bsky.social · 15/02/2025

uh oh, started reading the reviews NOW I DON'T KNOW. why did i read them?? i guess the main complaint from some folks is that it's meh or not "groundbreaking" enough... but will *I* enjoy it?

110

Brigid O'Shaughnessy @rvxen.bsky.social · 15/02/2025

Yeah I looked that up and it does seem freaking sweet, especially since I took college courses on Slavic folklore. But Avowed may be that total immersive experience that my lizard brain craves.

It was in the midst of walking in the snowstorm yesterday that the plot structure for my next Spuds Malone book fell into place. Been 13 years since the first book came out and 13 years of false starts on this second book, but I'm finally ready. Nature is magical, especially for cartoon potatoes.

Hammer Films' THE VAMPIRE LOVERS isn't trans (unless you count vampires as transhuman) but it's my favorite Victorian Lesbian Vampire movie bc it also stars my bae Peter Cushing ❤️🧛‍♀️❤️
