They want the clubcard discount (which can be substantial) without their spending being tracked. The win is supposed to be you getting the points.

I think it would be to the detriment of the plant which I haven't yet identified. It has survived the summer in a pot and deserves a chance to succeed! Mind you, Mme Sophie doesn't seem to believe fruit and veg should form part of her diet, even if it would be slimming so she won't agree with us.

It's alright, I know my son would be seriously upset if I did that to the Penderyn he got for his 21st!

He had serious doubts, El. I think he thought my tipple of choice would be g&t or wine. Then again, he might well have been worried about his spirit supplies. He got quite upset when Mum used Henessy XO for the Christmas pudding!

My Dad preferred to think I didn't know such words, even though 50+years ago we heard them in the playground. But then again he went very quiet when I drank neat malt whisky, when I had just spent 4 years at a Scottish university.

I think there was a medieval belief that when you sneezed the devil could enter so people said bless you to stop him.

To be honest, fine words butter no parsnips. My wife is the bravest person I know. She has jumped through all the hoops, lost family and we have been betrayed, big time. We know who supports us and it isn't this government.

The ADF are anti-abortion, anti-gay marriage, and anti-rights. Now they are importing their campaign to the UK and going after parkrun over trans inclusion. Labour need to tell them to jog on. share.nwmd.social/s/hGbgLI88

Today, NION Women are in London, marching in the Together Against the Far Right march as part of the Women Against the Far Right bloc. We’re here representing the 95,000+ cis women who have already signed our letter to say, clearly - Not in our name: Women in support of the trans+ community.

It's not just Girl Guides. My spouse (and consequently me) have had to leave the WI. Approximately 70 women met a trans woman and valued her, but she can't stay with that support group.

We joined the WI because it was trans inclusive. My wife is on our committee. After she organised the Christmas dinner she heard she has to leave. We are devastated. Many WI members do not yet realise what is happening.Ladies we know are very supportive, but there is no way my wife can keep going.

I have just made another complaint to the BBC, which I fully expect them to brush off again.

Through my spouse I have some idea of how hard it is for any trans woman. I am incredibly proud of her. I cannot begin to imagine what it is like for anyone who puts themselves in the public eye the way you do. We are both incredibly grateful that you do this.

Robin, I am so sorry this has happened. Thank you for expressing your opinions and for your support. The BBC appears to have forgotten the idea of neutrality, as well as their role as educators. They are very choosy about the debates they are prepared to participate in.

I am devastated, particularly on behalf of my spouse who is on our WI ctte and has just organised our Christmas dinner. The members of the WI have been incredibly welcoming and we feel abandoned.

RuthTalyllyn.bsky.social @ruthtalyllyn.bsky.social · 03/12/2025

I regret to say, girl guiding is only the beginning. Now the WI (Women's Institute) has said that trans women can no longer be members.

010 1

RuthTalyllyn.bsky.social @ruthtalyllyn.bsky.social · 02/12/2025

I suspect there is some very big money involved. We have been battling for years but it has got much worse since 16th April.

010 1

RuthTalyllyn.bsky.social @ruthtalyllyn.bsky.social · 02/12/2025

The guides appear happy to keep trans girls, but they certainly don't have the resources to fight the big money that is probably sponsoring this complaint.

160 6

RuthTalyllyn.bsky.social @ruthtalyllyn.bsky.social · 02/12/2025

A trans girl is unlikely to join the scouts, since that approach is what she is trying to escape from.
