The BBC going to extraordinary lengths in their current push on TV licences via Silent Hill: Townfall 🤣

RuthieRPD @ruthierpd.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

Also if they’d went a whole month of horror themed stream without showing anything of him people would complain. Damned if they do, damned if they don’t. (This is the closest thing anyone’s getting to me saying anything vaguely positive about that chapter).

I say this as someone who isn’t even supporting the chapter (it’ll be only the second DBD chapter I won’t buy) but all the complaints about the bug in the teaser for November’s chapter are wild. They often use early builds for that sort of thing, clearly they’re not intending it to stay that way.

Halloween is looking great in DBD 🎃

The PC I played The Sims 1 on makes an appearance in Silent Hill: Townfall 🤭

On a related note, I can highly recommend basically everything from the Giddy Gannet but especially their scones and delightful coffee roast. Unfortunately for the characters in Townfall I don’t believe they’ll be able to enjoy them in game.

A fruit scone on a blue plate with packs of butter and a pot of jam on the side. In the background is a mocha in an orange cup on a matching orange saucer with a love heart on top of the mocha in coffee art.

My progress in Townfall has been slowed due to my inability to stop saying things like ‘and if you just walk up there and take the road to the right that’s where the Giddy Gannet is in real life’ 🤭

A screenshot during gameplay of Silent Hill: Townfall showing a foggy fishing village. There’s a sign for ferry timings at the harbour’s edge and fisher cottages lining the street. A street light can be seen in the distance.

Yesterday I saw Sigrid (and Travis) waiting at traffic lights and I appeared extremely normal in the back of a taxi exclaiming “I know that cat! She’s famous!” 🤣 people don’t make me star struck but internet famous cats will 🤣

DBD loves to schedule 2v8 when I’m not around to play it. I’m only around for the last week of this iteration and that’s also Townfall release week so yeah… no 2v8 for me again 😭

Hope you feel better soon Bun, I’ll pop on some 90s pop bangers in solidarity 💃

I don’t think I have adequate words to explain how amazing it all sounds. I’m glad you’re enjoying it 😊

Not long now until we can properly dive into the town of ‘St. Amelia’ in Silent Hill: Townfall. Probably as good a time as any to share some photos from over the last while of one of the IRL reference towns. 📍St Monan’s, Scotland (I will try remember to add more to the chain when I have time)

The harbour at St Monan’s, Scotland, a fisher village which is one of many reference points for the town of St Amelia in the upcoming video game Silent Hill: Townfall. It is a clear day with blue sky, birds in the air and the harbour is lined with fisher’s cottages in white, blue, pink and yellow and the street is filled with vehicles. This image is taken at an angle and viewpoint which is directly referenced in the game.

The harbour in St. Monans, Scotland. The image depicts three moored boats with fishermen cottages in the background. There is blue sky with scattered clouds.

Street shot of St Monan’s, Scotland which were used as reference points in Silent Hill: Townfall. The backstreets are narrow and residences are depicted in white, yellow and burnt orange. There are grey skies.

Selfie taken in St. Monan’s, Scotland. It is a cloudy day and the selfie depicts a woman with windswept curly brown hair, round blush glasses and a navy and sky blue striped t shirt with a hot pink collar. In the background the harbour can be seen with an orange boat and white house in the distance.

Very poor form for news sites to be reporting on abuse allegations against a VA (without the VAs name in the headline) using an image of the character from an entirely different game and who is voiced by an entirely different VA than the allegations are about…

A lighthearted approach to everything going on in dbd recently is the fact that I don’t think Freddy has had this much attention turned his way since he launched in the game 🤣

010

RuthieRPD @ruthierpd.bsky.social · 16/06/2026

I miss the days when dbd’s ‘and another thing…’ announcements were things like Nicholas Cage 🤣 though I’m still sad about the fact the whole stream that year was leaked in advance but they kept all the hints and excitement building stuff in the main stream when everyone knew 😭

010

RuthieRPD @ruthierpd.bsky.social · 15/06/2026

How can BHVR not see the absolute irony in announcing a character like Hinako from Silent Hill f and THAT fucking clown in the same stream.

011

RuthieRPD @ruthierpd.bsky.social · 12/06/2026

I think this may have changed since release as I played on release and in my deluxe version Grace’s Report only unlocked after completing the story.

The downside of any time Resident Evil is in the spotlight is having to witness a subsection acting like it’s okay to be a sex pest if you’re ’good at your job’. I’d argue in any event there are others who can (and have) done a better job of that character in any event but yeah 🤬

RuthieRPD @ruthierpd.bsky.social · 25/05/2026

There’s so many games (and RE6 is a perfect example) where people just hear buzzwords about why they are ‘bad’ and just roll with it.

Enjoying Requiem SO much and had to force myself to bed once I got to what I’m sure is the final act. I think it says a lot that other than a few moments where I took such a big intake of breath I couldn’t ignore the pain in my lungs I genuinely forgot how unwell I am, full on engrossed 🤣

Trying desperately to avoid spoilers. I HATE that to do that you basically have to blast through a game these days. Omg the screwdriver was the bane of my life hahahaha.

It’s SO good and also batshit hahaha. I think I’m nearly at the final act but I need sleep.

Given this comes out on my birthday when I turn [REDACTED AGE] I do feel weirdly cosmically destined to give Vecna 2.0 a whirl, my list of killer mains can be increased to 3… maybe (joining Chucky and Wesker).
