A Flash Flood Warning is now in place for Lancaster, Saline, Seward, Butler, Saunders, Sarpy, and Douglas counties. Lincoln, Crete, Seward, Wahoo, and Omaha are included in this.

Additional Flash Flood Warnings are now in place for NW Lancaster, Seward, and western Saline counties through 11:45pm Wednesday. Flash Flood Warning for the city of Lincoln, most of Lancaster county, southeast Seward, and northeast Saline counties continues through 11:45pm tonight.

Southeast and south central Nebraska is now in a Moderate Risk for excessive rainfall Wednesday, September 30, 2026. Heavy rain is likely in this area and the Moderate Risk means there is a 40% chance that the heavy rainfall leads to flash flooding.

FLOOD WATCH: Tue - Thu, Sept 29 - Oct 1, 2026 Waves of rain are likely starting Tuesday and then on and off into Thursday. It won't rain the entire time, but soaking rains are possible when it does rain. A 1/2 inch to 1" are possible with each wave and we'll see multiple waves.

It's likely we'll see excessive rain Tuesday night into Wednesday, lingering into Thursday. 2-4" of rain is possible in the yellow shaded area. A few spots might see 5" by the time it's all said and done.

Light rain across parts of Nebraska as of 914pm Saturday, Sept 25th. The heavier rain is moving through Kansas headed for south central and southeast Nebraska. More soaking rains and t-storms likely overnight!

545pm Friday: Storms have popped along a cold front and are moving northeast after they form. The front will move southeast, so additional storms further southeast are likely. If you have outdoor plans, have a plan to get indoors if you hear thunder! Severe threat is small.

WATCH BEFORE THE WATCH: Includes Lincoln, Omaha, Beatrice, Columbus, and Hebron, as of 330pm Monday, Sept 14. The Storm Prediction Center is watching eastern Nebraska closely for a possible severe weather watch. A Tornado Watch would be the likely outcome.

10Day Lincoln Forecast: Sept 11-20, 2026 Going from the 80s to the low 70s over the next several days means front after front after front moving through. This will cool us down and gives us a chance for storms each day all the way through the middle of next week.

There is a very good chance we see a severe weather watch in the red circled area this Thursday afternoon. Very large hail is possible with wind gusts up to 80 mph possible. Not everyone in this area will see severe weather, but the chance is there.

There is a “Marginal Risk” (green) and a “Slight Risk” (yellow) for severe weather this evening and overnight. Storms will be possible this morning and afternoon across much of Nebraska, but the main threat will come out of South Dakota around sunset, then pushes SE overnight.

A Severe T-storm Watch is in place for much of western Nebraska. A line of storms will move from west to east through midnight and may have damaging wind and some hail. This should diminish in strength as it moves in to central Nebraska.
