Spent 30 yrs flying into remote locations around the globe, with luggage limits of 10-12 kgs. Carrying a camera, a music player & my 17 inch laptop & external drives took most of that. I wore my heaviest clothes and boots. A phone with camera, music player, GPS would have meant more room for snacks

We have Black Cockatoos here in Sydney. My wife runs out of the house to see them whenever she hears their calls. They are the coolest of all the larrakins.

Hey, even if your method is not perfect, by showing this video you probably inspired a bunch of people to have a go. I relaid part of my driveway, didn't really know how. Nearly finished, my concreter neighbour came over and helped me pretty it up. Still there, still pretty 25 years later. Well done

The saudis cost me tens of thousands in lost income. Was offerred a brilliant project to manage, but I had to work in the capital. Not the slightest chance that I would go there. The project was in one of the "stans", I preferred the risk of being shot at again to dealing with them!

When I was young I did a lot of "arty" photography with film and slides. My passion waned over the years and I never really got back into it. My wife takes all the photos these days. Have bought myself many cameras that she ended up using & doing much better than me. Am happy to watch.

We drove into that on our way home north from Bondi. First blinding rain, then hail, then the car in front of us drove into an intersection and floated away. People appeared from everywhere, warning cars, directing traffic. It was a wonderful experience seeing so many rising to the occassion.

Where I live in Sydney, we are really well serviced by buses. I used to always have to check the schedules though and sadly they were often early, which is way worse than late. Now we have a metro 20 minutes walk away and I have never looked up the schedule, I just walk there and get on.

We had a 15yo boy come live with us when his parents were thrown out of their rental. We fell in love with him and kept him as ours. He is now successful and a father just like this and we are so very proud of the man he is. (He never saw his own parents again, they weren't interested)

I think that this is a timeless human condition. I recently took boxes of "cheap" tools to the metal recyclers, that I originally bought thinking "I won't use them much". My $100+boots & $30+ gloves etc have way outlasted the original "cheaper" stuff.

I have an app. I take my BP multiple times in the days before a visit to my GP and my specialists. I give them the data. My previous GP did not believe in "white coat", hence he is my previous. My specialist was sceptical so I mentioned my Applied Science degrees he now agrees.

My back yard has a large pool 1m higher than the house. Was a huge area of concrete & fill with a metre high block wall near the house. 6× 4metre skips later it is a multilevel raised timber deck and stairs. Now I have no idea how I did it. I'm in awe of what you have achieved you'll do it!

Ne er thought of that, but I retired last year so the answer is true for me. I used to just say I was a geophysicist and if they hit me with what is that I would answer that I do geophysics making out that it was obvious. They usually left me alone & mostly didnt like me much after that. Job done.

Years ago, 2 brothers I knew built a speedboat. In the only room big enough - their lounge room. They ended up getting it out by propping up and removing an entire external wall. Anything can be done if we just set our minds to it. I love your latest project & am confident you will work it out

I would love to see solar rolled out on blocks of flats. They have huge roof areas and the cost and efficiency are way better than even when I put it up in 2023. And soon battery prices will fall so that big batteries can also be added.

3 years running, work had me in the US at superbowl time. 3 parties at which almost no american could explain to me what was actually going on thru much of the game. Maybe it was just that group, but even as a Sydney rugby boy I could still explain AFL to foreigners.

People like me who are lucky to own their own home and afford solar and a battery, saving money on electricity and being immune to power outages is straight forward. I am old now and living in the house I grew up in. As a kid there would be almost always 10-20 kids in the street. I get a feeling of joy when I hear the yells and screams of the latest generation of kids out in my street.
