If you want a fun horror movie with a different spin to the usual killer, I recommend "Freaky". It's kinda Friday 13th meets Freaky Friday. #Halloween

In lots of movies and TV shows, the family eats homemade pancakes or waffles for breakfast. Americans, is this actually a common breakfast for you?

About once a year I get a hankering for hotdogs. Today is that day. With onions cooked in butter, plus ketchup and mustard. We had no gherkins.

Rewatching season 1 of Heroes, which is very good. Except it reminded me how irritating I find Mohinder's intro words for each episode, trying to sound all deep but just pretty cheesy.

Alright book fans! It's my partner's birthday coming up and I want to find her some good sci-fi reads. Stipulations/preferences: 1) Near-future 2) Not hard-SF 3) Feminist angles 4) New(er) release 5) Page-turner with interesting concepts Any recommendations?

I very quickly put us all together in front of a picture of our house. Quite a bit to alter to get it looking a bit better, but generally I think my partner will really like the gift and all the work I put into it. I only started drawing and using Illustrator 12 months ago so I've a lot to learn.

Final member of the family portrait is... Me! Frankly I think I look a little too uncanny l, like a slightly creepy waiter. But I'm new to drawing people and the likeness is ok considering I combined an old body with a new head while removing a dog and gun. I'm learning!

If you mention Edinburgh is nice on social media, it summons Glaswegians who'll tell you that Glasgow's better. Go on, try it!

The family portrait continues. This is the first human I've ever drawn and, despite it looking like she's groping her own breast, I'm fairly happy with it. I used mostly shapes and paints, with some faint photo layers to help me with the face and knees.

As I'm making this family portrait in secret for my partner's birthday present, I'm having to work on it when she's out of the room, here and there. Anyway, I drew Eddie today. Two dogs down, two humans to go.

My first TV appearance as "man looking at view, facing away from camera" (for about 3 seconds) in a Cross Country Trains advert. I had everybody fooled and am awaiting my Oscar nominations. Full ad here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=SD3H...

It's my partner's birthday soon but I don't have much money for presents so I'm making her a family portrait and some framed other versions, starting with Pakkun, our (departed) spaniel.

Watching "Notting Hill" for the first time, I noticed: 1) Julia Roberts says very little 2) Everybody else speaks like Paddington Bear 3) Night scenes are weirdly bright 4) Quirk quirk quirky

This week I exercised every morning, ate healthily, didn't drink any booze. Gained weight. So, next week maybe I'll try the opposite method.

I'm giving a little presentation to Creative Edinburgh today, so I've given myself a haircut and dressed "creatively" (colourfully).

Just finished Kingdom Hearts (1.5) for the first time. That end boss (mainly just the 1on1) was difficult, took me about 10-12 attempts. On to KH2!

Anybody else had a flurry of new followers recently? I'm not talking thousands, just like 30 in a couple of days. I wonder if it's because I posted about slow cookers.

Anybody who has a slow cooker, how often do you actually use it? I've always resisted as I figure you can do the same thing on the hob/in the oven, but that's a bit risky if you're out all day and want the food ready when you're home / don't want to cook when you get home from a busy day.

I just watched Supergirl! For me, it's a 6.5/10. I think Milly Alcock was really good as Supergirl, she sold the troubled protagonist trying to overcome grief and be a good person.
