Added #birds 4-6 to yesterday's #avianaugust page. They were done by flashlight, this is our 6th day with no electricity. I am hoping it's restored by Tuesday-it could stay off until Friday as that is when they projected a 100% restoration for the area. #art #sciart #sketchbook #traditionalart

I'm in an area that got hit by some severe storms and have been out of electricity for a bit, so I started tackling #avianaugust with the first 3 #birds. We'll see how many I can get caught up on over the next couple days. #sciart #coloredpencil #traditionalart #nature #sketchbook #illustration

Here's another bird from my extended list. I picked this one up on the Merlin app at Bloedel Reserve. A black-throated grey warbler. Hadn't heard of this one before! I hope you are having a great week. 💕😊 #bainbridgeislandbirds #blackthroatedgraywarbler #birdpainting

Hello, I am Russ, or Tommy, I am a #mixedmedia traditional artist and keep several themed sketchbooks. I spend most of my time drawing nature/garden subjects including insects, birds, flowers, and statuary. #introduction #art #artist #sciart #traditionalart #sketchbook #artwork #nature #garden

Some more #watercolor practice in my #sketchbook. Was attempting proportions as well as shading. I think it turned out great. I'm really glad that I decided to tackle watercolor! #art #statuary #artist #BlueSkyart #traditionalart

Something about the drawing seems off and the #watercolor doesn't look right to me either. That being said, I do like it enough to keep it around...I think #sketchbook #illustration #sciart #bugs #invertebrates #art #bugsky

My new #watercolor #sketchbook came in and I decided to devote the intro page to Calpyso, my brother's #bird. Watercolor dries soooo much lighter than I'd expect. I am definitely going to need to start spending more time layering color, I'm just kinda nervous about doing it. #art #sciart #nature

I've been out of my nature sketchbook recently and have just been doing some #Disney #fanart of rides at the park while playing around with light washes of #watercolor. I want to get into urban sketching sometime as well, so I figure getting building practice in is only gonna help in the long run.

I was doing some very basic wet on wet practice with #watercolor then remembered #birdwhisperer was today, so I decided to throw the Little Egret into a couple of the pages. It's basic, but at least I didn't miss it this time around! #birds #art #nature #traditionalart #sciart

Wanted to start getting the feel of #watercolor so I did a few doodles. These took me longer than I'd care to admit, but I think I am going to continue working with them, pushing water around on a page is pretty relaxing. #art #traditionalart #sketchbook #sciart #illustration #nature #walrus #seal
