Good idea, fits well into what I'm building. Let me know if you want to work together on it.

Maybe a bit overkill, but… I’m ingesting jetstream2.us-east.bsky.network and filtering on langs:JA then tokenizing with smart-knowledge-systems.com/kiri to build my personal Japanese language learning app with Bluesky bsky.feed.post as the exercises. Maybe I’ll make it public when done. #atproto

@easier-idx/core is my attempt to abstract the central idea I had, extending it to citation network analysis I’m doing for a research paper I’m going to publish in a Wiley journal, hopefully. Also another product I’m thinking about:

CAPABILITIES
Beyond keyword matching
Research Analysis operates in high-dimensional embedding space, perceiving connections that no keyword search could find.
Semantic Similarity
Your essay paragraphs are compared against every article in your library using embedding vectors — capturing meaning, not just words. A passage about “epistemic uncertainty” finds its resonance with “knowledge limits,” even when no terms overlap.
Contextual Glossaries
Each article produces a glossary of how its authors define and deploy key terms. See precisely how “agency” means one thing in a sociology paper and another in philosophy — and where those meanings converge with your own.
Cross-Article Resonance
Discover connections between sources in your library that share no citations, no keywords, and no authors — yet vibrate at the same conceptual frequency. The invisible conversations in your field, made visible.
Progressive Deepening
Start with similarity scores. Drill into connection summaries. Read full paragraph-level syntheses. Each layer offers a deeper view into how your argument interfaces with the literature — from overview to close reading.

A semantic search engine for codebases. Uses embeddings, AST extraction, import graph analysis, and commit history to help developers and AI agents find relevant code faster than grep/ripgrep. smart-knowledge-systems.com/codeindex

What was really fun about this port (in part, my choice of languages was to learn more of each) is that I ported Java to Typescript, hot paths in TS to Rust, the rest of TS to Elixir, then used the Rust and Elixir implementations to improve the TS which had vestigial Java-isms.
A Nano Banana generation of “vestigial Java-isms” — It includes a CRT monitor, a Sun Microsystems mug with dried coffee, drippings, many floppy discs, etc.

Imagine the end of the story where the president did wait (the DNSA pushed for it), and it’s a dud or a dummy/sick joke. The movie ends. The world lives on another day… in a house of dynamite. You're going to quote Oppenheim but not Bigelow? I mean, come on… thebulletin.org/2025/10/a-co....

First, the setup is the least of my worries, but the “flaw” you’re able to hit the hardest. It’s actually addressed in the movie, with characters discussing why a single missile would be launched. It doesn’t matter; it’s not central to the subject matter. The Zoom call of doom happens either way.

New blog posts up, but also a new blog homepage. Filter by (multiple) tags! Built this in minutes with Claude Code then spent an hour tweaking design. www.smart-knowledge-systems.com/blog?sort=desc

Each tile has multiple visual elements. These elements can be about as complex as a letter or more so (i.e. as complex as some 部首, e.g. 飛). While playing, I find myself giving each of the Topeka tileset's elements an identity, sometimes a personality or even a name, just as I did 部首 when learning 字

I was playing @nytgames.bsky.social’s Tiles today, and realized it was a perfect example of combinatorial object construction and how it relates to orthography. Last month, D. Share published the combinatorial model in Reading Research Quarterly, in which he said …
Icon for NYTGames’ TilesHow to play Tiles
Match identical shapes or backgrounds in every tile.
Example: M and W share V

• Find combos: Same-colored shapes or backgrounds shared by 2 tiles. Each tile has multiple visual elements.
• Tap tiles to remove the matches you find. Tiles don't have to be adjacent.
• To create a long combo, match the second tile you tap to a new one.
• Continue matching until the board is cleared.
You won't lose your long combo if you end on an empty tile.iOS Photos recognized some tiles as text: Chinese characters, Unicode, punctuation, and numbers.

Ah, but does he mean it? When he says he’s going to pardon all the seditionists, did he mean it? When he says you have to fight like hell, does he mean it? When he said he was going to be a dictator on day one, did he really mean it? Is just plain unacceptable language, yet accepted by all. 🤷

2025 goal—I’m going to publish this year in Reading Research Quarterly. Tentative title: Social Objects and Perceptual Symbols: A Sociocognitive Model of Reading in Perceptual Space
An illustration featuring a semi-transparent multi-faceted hyperobject, interconnected with other floating hyperobjects, and surrounded by silhouettes of diverse readers.

I’m trying to fund a study of either (human aided or tech aided). Tech has some nice affordances that I’m working on for making a determinate sight vocabulary legible and serviceable, but a human shadow is better UX. Anecdotally, by age 7 my first EAR student had read more than 5 million words.

What are the Five Pillars of Reading Instruction?
The five pillars of reading instruction, also known as the five pillars of early literacy, are a set of key components developed by the National Reading Panel essential for reading proficiency.
These pillars include phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension. Each component plays a crucial role in developing strong reading skills, and educators who understand and effectively teach these pillars are increasing the chances their students learn how to read proficiently.

Although each article shares important points, there is overlap. These articles show that our research community agrees on more of the science (or sciences) of reading than not.
Seeking to Define
The International Literacy Association (ILA) defines SOR as "a corpus of objective investigation and accumulation of reliable evidence about how humans learn to read and how reading should be taught."
The authors for this special issue seem to characterize SOR as an approach that prioritizes basic science and experimental work.
For example, Graham writes, "The science of reading involves studying how reading operates, develops, is taught, shapes academic and cognitive growth, affects motivation and emotion, interacts with context, and impacts context in turn. It includes genetic, biological, environmental, contextual, social, political, historical, and cultural factors that influence the acquisition and use of reading."

Additionally, Synthialog is a collaborative abstracting tool integrating structured discussion and democratic decision-making principles into the content creation workflow. It is used to condense Dialogues into Abstracts.

I want a platform that prioritizes meaningful conversations over individual posts, so I’m creating Dialogue. Dialogue is a forum that is pseudonymous by default that can serve #atproto content. Dialogue allows for highlighting key responses and allowing for upvotes and downvotes.
An image that captures the essence of the "Dialogue" platform, focusing on prioritizing meaningful conversations over individual posts. It features digital avatars engaged in structured, in-depth discussions within a beautifully designed interface that encourages thoughtful engagement and fosters a sense of community.
