Volunteer at a no-kill cat shelter since 2016. I've been there, many times, the moment someone surrenders a cat because *whatever reason*. Watching the cat's reaction as their humans walk away is maybe the hardest of all things we deal with. And yes, we are filled to bursting. Adopt, don't shop.
