The death penalty is a moral abomination. State-sanctioned barbarism pushed by incompetent morons and sanctioned by the Supreme Court. Absolute ghoul shit. www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...

The lone woman on Tennessee's death row was still alive after she was administered two lethal injections, her lawyer said in a motion seeking to halt her execution Wednesday night, a stunning development after the Supreme Court had stepped in to allow the state to put her to death.
At 8:26 p.m. local time, witnesses said
"executioners had injected both syringes of lethal injection chemicals and Pike is still alive and snoring," her lawyers said in a federal court filing.
They said Pike "has not lost consciousness and still has a heartbeat," and that curtains to the death chamber "have gone down twice."

Git (by xkcd)

Two characters discuss using Git for collaborative projects, emphasizing memorization of certain shell commands for syncing work because no one really knows how it works.

I Would To…. I’d rather live next door to someone who crossed oceans to build a better life for their families than live next to people who won’t lift a finger to make life better for anyone but themselves.

A sequence showing a main drop separating from the stem of water holding on it, and then the waves travelling back up the stem triggered by the stem to split into multiple droplets. #photography #blackandwhite #fluiddyamics #water #rain

A drop has just separated from its stem.

Waves triggered by the drop separation travel back up the stem.

The stem splits into droplets aligned with the troughs of the waves.

Large swells in Sydney today kept swimmers out of the water but made for great photography.

Following a conversation yesterday regarding how engagement behaves, I'm posting again one of the first images I shared here at #bluesky (a #firebreather shot), in order to see if it gets more #love two months and 4k followers later. If you like it please comment and repost! #photography #fire🔥🔥 🔥

Close up shot of a firebreather with the eyes closed, spitting fire upwards, and the flame shows extreme detail both in the core and in the particles around it. Orange and yellow colors dominate the image, which was shot in almost complete dark, and is lighted only by the flame.

Light always prevails! A short lived moment of breathtaking beauty as a granite outcrop in Patagonia's Torres del Paine catches fire, in the endless struggle between light and darkness. #bluesky #photography #landscape #travel #nature #scape #landscapephotography #naturephotography #sunset
