She has a shiny, tapered black body with white spots on her wings, which are folded back against it, and long, elegant black and white barred antennae.

It’s just a dandelion … unless it’s spring and you’re a #bee and there’s little else in bloom. (Boiling water does the job if dandelions are truly unwanted. Check that nobody’s home and be prepared to collect the large quantity of seed the plant releases the minute it figures out it’s in trouble.)

Those must be beautiful! Perhaps you could post photos when they emerge. The Deerheads bloom in clumps in shady, mossy places and smell a bit like vanilla. If you look closely you’ll see three tiny spiders hiding in the petals, waiting for a meal to happen by.
