Vänsterpartiet is against the proposal on Chat Control, which means mass surveillance of private communication online. We are of the opinion that the proposal challenges fundamental rights, such as the right to personal privacy and freedom of communication. To scan the messages of all citizens is an unacceptable form of surveillance that puts democracy and rule of law at risk.
