ruka always says music is the only thing she's good at (even tho it's not true) but i think what it actually means is "music is the thing i actually put my heart into". it also seems like out of her whole rockstar life she simply loved making music and performing rather than everything else

and this became obvious to me only with later stories. that's why 5.1 is kind of unfocused. it's easy to misunderstand that yukki's arc is the one that made it unfocused but ruka's mom being grateful for a second chance is the one thing that's consistent with everything they set up

my relationship with 5.1 is so complicated. i think it's the chapter with the kind of storytelling that requires you to piece things together to understand it as a whole and so i can talk about it forever but the ending (sorry oomfs who liked it) plays out feels like smth written to make people cry

i don't want to be negative all the time but my motivation to actually play the game is dying when the ideal f2p/low spender team is "ice 31A" and my favorite character gets left out of her own squad and is replaced by a popular character i'm tired of

yukki was also the last one to get a light style in 31A but she got it a month after krtk so she wasn't left or anything. but it's been almost 8 months since the last 31A ice member and they're encouraging people to kick yukki out and use aoi instead

4.2 and interlude 2 did this right. 4.2 ended with mgtm and the interlude focused on an npc to let tama move on but there was room to breathe and the two plot lines weren't pitted against each other. but 5.1 relies on yukki to succeed and then discards her to go back to an npc

i still haven't forgiven them for not commissioning even a single yukki illust during AB collabs. like even tama is there
