I once exited my apartment to this majestic creature sitting on my railing. I had to walk right by it, within a foot or two, and it didn't flinch. I did, of course. Denver has some pretty good wildlife, as well.

In fairness, I do miss "Crash" Collins on Houston's KLOL back in the early 70's. His perpetually stoned persona in the 10PM time slot while spinning some of the more esoteric disks - Roads to Moscow, The Four Horsemen, Moonmadness - were a delight to my stoned teen ears.

I used to peruse the albums in record stores and pick them by band names and cover art. I was delightfully introduced to bands like Be Bop Deluxe, Michael Stanley Band, Tommy Bolin, Babe Ruth, and many other bands I never heard on the radio.

Jenny Hahn had some pipes and Alan Shacklock could sure play that guitar!

Tommy Bolin was incredibly prodigious in his short life. I saw him live with Deep Purple. RIP!
