From Ben-Hur to The Passion of the Christ, Jesus has been one of cinema’s most frequently reinvented figures. But these portrayals tell us just as much about modern culture, theology, and power as they do about the ancient near East.

🎙️ New episode! This week Dr Katie Turner explores the complex — sometimes contentious — world of “Jesus films”. Why does Jesus on screen so often look like a Hollywood leading man? And how have films shaped our imagination of the biblical world more than scholarship ever could?

Petition for the next Bond film to be set in the 1960s: we don’t need another modern action film, Bond died in the last one so it’s a good time for a reset, and the most popular Bond film in recent times was Casino Royale which really leaned into the nostalgia of old Bond

If you have elderly relatives/ friends who are struggling financially, do get them to check whether they’re eligible for government assistance. I recently helped my grandparents and the process was so confusing that I don’t think a lot of people realise they’re entitled to claim. Happy to advise!

Did you know, most pubs called The Queen’s Head were actually named for Queen Anne but subsequent publicans and breweries decided that most people don’t know Queen Anne and so always stick Elizabeth I on the sign. Justice for Queen Anne, she deserves some pubs.
