Slowly getting back on the art train, practicing dimensionality and lighting with this one.

Ill be with you soon im just in the mud again. Haha you know how it is! Mud..

A digital sketch of Rubicon, a anthro utahraptor, buried up to their hips in mud. Their hands are also sinking into it and their facial expression is distressed and tired.

I feel like I'm finally at a point with my art where I, theoretically, have the technical skill to create, at least to some degree, dinosaur/paleo art. But... that first step, of accuracy, feels... insurmountable.

Today we would like to recognize Ken Sample aka Ken Cougar. A Black man who is credited with creating and coining the term "Fursona". While drawing one of his "Exotics" Ken drew a Cougar character that looked strikingly like himself. Attendees of this conference also wanted their own characters!

a drawing by ken sample of the character ken cougar

Ken cougar on a Ken Sample portfolio #1. Ken cougar is inbetween two female furries. On the left is a fox and on the right is a cheetah! There are other drawings scattered in the backround

God going to #dinoconUK has really, again, reinforced how badly I'd like to do paleoart. But I think I'm scared. Scared of being inaccurate, of misrepresenting science, of being part of the problem...

Shoutout to the useless 'paramedic practitioner' at my GP surgery who diagnosed a sprained shoulder without ever touching me or even making me take my shirt off but still marked me as having no swelling or deformity, making me drive to the surgery and wait for a less than 5 minute appointment.

It was a commission slot i donated to a charity auction and a joy to work on, honestly! They had such a clear vision and were so lovely to work with. I really enjoyed making it.
