Meanwhile, when Twelve, raised in a children's home, learns of evidence that someone tried to hide him from the government, he reluctantly investigates his origins after a final fight with Laurel, unknowingly revealing his existence to the government, which won't let him get away again...

He let go of her arm and turned to walk away. "You've changed," she said softly. "Since when were you so angry?" Twelve stopped. A memory pulled at his mind, from the very first time they had met. He turned. "If I scream, they'll believe anything I say," he said. "Isn't that what you said?"
