While charging (which with a decent EV and charger take less than 20minutes to add 200+miles of range) You can go wait in a nice rest stop, (fast food) restaurant, walking into the place and helping 2 children with the toilet takes up most of the charging time already

In Spanish we have a term for your stories; cuñadismo. self-proclaimed expert who speaks authoritatively on complex topics based strictly on hearsay, viral rumors, or unverified claims. I've charged in 40°C (104F) and -20°C (-4F) while traveling with two children.

So, not your own experience but sure, I agree that buying a swasticar from con-man Musk isn't the best decision someone can make however back on topic I DO speak of my own experience and my EV experience has been better than any of the ICE cars I owned in the last 30+

It's funny how people who don't own an EV or has any experience with them tell me how I must plan my trips. no, I do not plan around charging stations, I plan around where I want to go and what is want to visit. Nearly every tiny town has charging stations, even in rural areas or mountain towns

And I do 3600km (3500mi) road trips in my ev twice a year (1xwinter, 1x summer) Don't plan around charging stations just drive and charge when needed, after 2½ .. 3 hours driving i like to stretch my legs, eat something or drink a coffee, go to a toilet anyway, 20 minutes is even short for that

In my EV (VW ID) you don't have to replace a whole battery pack at once, it had 7 (9 for the larger range model) modules in the pack that can be replaced separately. One module would cost between €500 (refurbished) and €800 (factory new) much than parts that are only on an ICE car (timing belt

Most ev's warranty their batteries at least 100,000 miles (160,000km) But lasting much longer. Many EV's don't have to change the entire pack, in my VW the battery pack consists of 7 modules that can be individually replaced. One module cost between €500 (refurbished) and €800 (factory new)

I drive the exact same routes as before, this may be different in other countries but on all main routes in western Europe there are chargers at (almost) every gas station on the highway, on many rest stops that don't have a gas station and about every town and city you pass.

Longer in total, that's less than the variation in might experience due to traffic and weather. Moreover I arrive more rested and paid less than half in energy than did with my previous ICE car.

On the other hand in an ice car it's pumped under 15 to 20psi pressure and close or even above boiling temperatures through an engine block where the combustion takes place at 1000°C,(EGR) coolers, turbocharger cooling loops and transmission oil coolers.

Now about the cooling systems; In an ev cooling fluid is pumped thru the battery inverter and motor at low pressure and around 50°C and it either cooled (radiator) or heated (heat pump or electric heater).

In my case, using a ID.3 In Spain, over 10 years and 160,000 km, saves roughly 18 to 22 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent compared to a similar gasoline-powered C-segment car (such as a Volkswagen Golf 1.5 TSI or Ford Focus)

The average EV lasts as long as the average ICE car, moreover after 13000 (Norway. Spain,) 30000km (USA/EU Avg) or 60000 (ej. Poland en or India) EV is already greener than an ICE car in overall lifetime (manufacturing + usage) emissions.
