Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 8hRemain some of my happiest memories in games even if the hours put into creating them got insane at times. Truly great teams, friends I still have to this day. 120
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 11/10/2026We really did get the best artists in the industry from a very early time. Though I wish Dan Malone had worked for us! 020
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 10/10/2026Bigger drop on far less units. That is troubling. 000
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 10/10/2026The issue isn’t free it’s whether anyone subscribed to GP to get it and beyond that do they stay when it’s done? After that you ascribe a % of rev by hours played and that’s revenue. 010
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 10/10/2026I know he’s being a bit facetious but it’s very easy to know why the layoffs. Not really rocket science. 100
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 10/10/2026Older audience ; it’s a Dad’s IP (which is what Disney is trying to fix with Grogu and the like) 000
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 07/10/2026If the guy is still allowed in front of a computer. Suspect he’ll be paid a visit shortly. 000
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Be very interesting to see how Tony restructures it. Suspect a lot of WB will stay in place. 010
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Yes but if we keep saying things and posting it on X people will think we have a strategy … which is hard because Helix clearly makes absolutely no sense whatsoever in any form. 000
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 07/10/2026For a game that had to seriously pivot they did an amazing job. 010
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 04/10/2026A PS5 launch would have probably helped a bit to make that happen … 000
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 02/10/2026It’s pretty simple ; nothing makes sense (business wise). they can’t publicly say that, Asha wants attention and to build her profile so lots of sound and fury signifying nothing. 000
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 30/09/2026This was incredibly difficult to try and put together ; far too many games that are very much a part of who I am and where my career went. Could probably do this ten times over. 010
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 27/09/2026I think we’re going round in circles Rami. Hope all is well, sad I wasn’t able to fly in Koln. 111
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 26/09/2026I’ll be there for it too. Ed Sheeran’s fans had spent a lot of money to see Ed Sheeran. 000
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Personally I have a LOT more problems with Ireland playing Israel behind closed doors in a fucking football match. There’s no responsibility there whatsoever. 010
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 26/09/2026It was. He had to choose between carrying on an honoring a contract he has with 70,000 fans a night - while apologizing and stating quite clearly how he felt about Gaza - or shitting on the people who made him a star. He also gave Macklemore a platform far beyond his reach. 100
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 26/09/2026I mean I guess you’re unaware of who Jeremy Corbin is. It doesn’t suggest he’s OK with Israel doing genocide at all. 100
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 26/09/2026I mean Sheeran's history would suggest he's no fan of Israel ; he voted for Jeremy Corbyn for one and has done charity work for Ukraine for another. I'd call him fairly liberal. Flip side he's also made a contract with 3m fans to play for them on this tour. 100
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 26/09/2026That’s a very false equivalence Rami and you are more than aware of it. 210
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 25/09/2026I think it's more nuanced than that. He's sold a lot of tickets to fans he now has to let down one way or the other. He shouts FREE PALESTINE, he doesn't get to play for them. That may well be his position, he knew inviting Macklemore included that. Impossible situation. 100
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 25/09/2026I mean CoD will sizeably outperform last years so yes growth. 000
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Well Asha obviously isn't Asha, it's a very regimented social media person cosplaying Phil Spencer. Matt is posting and its weird, because he can't clarify elements like this and thus you get hand wavy posts. Booty obviously isn't on there because he's the hatchet man. It's still weird. 010
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Paul then Andy Blazdell or John Kavanagh then me . . . Graham may have just excluded me for being me ;) 100
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 25/09/2026And in my haste forgot about this incredible product that is now 20 years old! The evolution of this game from early stages to genre defining game it became was an amazing struggle delivered by an amazing team at Relic; happy birthday CoH! 020
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Tōkon Wolverine is epic ; but really, really breaks the feels! 000
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Bigger problem was how they approached the launch. Rather than work with a community and ensure Destiny players knew it was NOT for them, they sat in a guilded cage and allowed only those deserved to enter. Not how it works today, no matter who you are. 010
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 25/09/202622 years since this was released (in Europe, 4 days ago in US!). Working with Relic on this was amazing, honestly it’s still one of my favorite RTS games ever. I got to work on a few. Definitely a toss up between this and Mech Commander. Or Supreme Commander! 040
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 25/09/2026I was not invited to this epic moment in history!! Why?!?? 100
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 25/09/2026I’m still perplexed why Microsoft PR allow Senior staff on X. 191
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 24/09/2026Early days being a "Software Manager" (aka Producer) at Domark. These pictures were taken in 1990 at Walking Circles in Bury while porting Atari's Skull & Crossbones to the 16-bit and 8-bit computers of the time (Amiga, ST, Amstrad, C64 and Spectrum). 180
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 23/09/2026Atari Games Christmas Party 1990. I spent a month in lovely Milpitas getting our home computer ports approved by the team at Tengen; did a few graphics for RBI Baseball on the Genesis, actually saw the Batman coin-op that never came out. A lifetime ago. 040
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 23/09/2026And the CEO strangely absent from any commentary today. Nothing worse than cowardly leadership. 000
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 23/09/2026Funny how the CEO only shows up for the good news too. 000
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 22/09/2026You are CEO of a company in good times and bad. Very much not impressed by the leadership of Xbox today. 030
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Third hand sources are unlikely to know. But I don’t believe it was as entirely out of the blue as Kojima makes it sound. Doesn’t work like that. 000

Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 16/09/2026He was ; Marcus led it . . Paul Berrisford too! 110
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 14/09/2026Honestly their approach to the market was all wrong ; they brought a totally anti-Destiny game and onboarded the Destiny crowd. Many devs went after Tarkov, Marathon is just the highest profile "oh, that was a bad idea." So much quality in it, hopefully the PvE pivot works. 010
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 14/09/2026Microsoft shareholders pay absolutely no attention to Xbox ; its a rounding error. 000
Richard Browne @rpwbrowne.bsky.social · 14/09/2026I would argue there are very good internal political reasons for it ; just as there was for "leaking" their performance vis-a-vis the rest of Xbox Studios. 000
