#nycc is live. @dcoffical.bsky.social #batman #superman #lanterns DC fans- be loud! -age revert Jon Kent permanently, stop the incompetence -why is DC recycling story/plot, treating fans as idiots with Shadow of the Bat and Justice Year? -why did Lanterns have such poor writing and plot failure?

I do wish you exercised such enthusiasm in “all right!” digging into consistent incompetency of DC “editor” Paul Kaminski. His treatment of Super-IP is terrible…and, you let him skate. Fawned on his disingenuous idiocy/fan gaslighting. But, let’s not highlight your hypocrisy. Block me, as you do.

There should be a level below “worst,” right? Execrable? In the past decade, DC editorial decisions, especially around Jon Kent, have been consistently execrable.

#Lanterns Lanterns is sadly lifted only by Pierre/Chandler raising up inferior material. As with any Tom King project: deconstruction of beloved characters, script failure, characterization failure, plot that rides a trajectory of comic-character-assassinating vignettes into a flaming dumpster.

Note: today is “Paul Kaminski is an incompetent” day, for those DC fans that celebrate. Traditional book gifts include Bond’s “Filth and Grammar” and O’Neil’s “The DC Comic’s Guide to Writing Comics.” Permissible food gifts include rotten tomatoes, expired milk and over-ripe bananas. Enjoy!

I don’t make a habit of collecting antique books… but, @aaronmeyers.bsky.social -esque, I’ll stop for a deal. - 1870 printing (2nd print run) of Alcott’s An Old-Fashioned Girl. With, inscription that the copy was publicly read at the Packer Institute, Brooklyn, that same year.

Because the topic continues to come up, and I do read DMs: - yes, the DC editorial team remains incompetent around the Super-line. Especially demonstrated by the Jon Kent lack of age reversion - no, DC has not explained the “Ultraboy” parallel torture plot point - I MAY be at NYCC- trying hard

This is a poor article, pushing an incorrect perception of both the Jon Kent character and the Superman family of titles. The Superman titles are poorly edited and questionably scripted, and the treatment of the Jon Kent IP is thecwirst it has been since the age-up. Incompetence, plot failure.

Listened “Digging for Kryptonite” podcast, interviewing Paul Kaminski. I’d invite all to tune in: Flat Squirrel Productions platforms an incompetent editor, untrustworthy with loved characters and highly disingenuous. Kaminsky even panders about “schemes to de-age Jon Kent…” Pure fabrication.
001
Robert P. Glover @rpglover.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
Recent lies by DC Superman editors. Ready? “Kaminski highlighted his core…mission: bringing joy, optimism, and compassion back to superhero storytelling …fostering a good-faith relationship with fandom…” If Jon Kent remains aged up, then this “good-faith” is pure untruth. Told by an incompetent.

Can’t wait for NYCC. - ready to brace DC editors/creators to age revert Jon Kent permanently (note: DC editorial incompetence still immense) - discuss poor/recycled plot concepts of The Shadow of the Bat - the dichotomy of the amazing art/poorly told deconstruction in Superman: The Stranger
000
Robert P. Glover @rpglover.bsky.social · 13/09/2026
The art was never poor. The aged Jon Kent concept, the plot, the script, the dialogue and the editing across all Superman titles was- like current DC Comics- the nadir.

Valid. Failed, aged up Jon Kent requires a permenant age reversion to save the character.

Robert P. Glover @rpglover.bsky.social · 06/09/2026
Bought the new Legion book. Art- at times excellent, tries hard to channel Ditko/Steranko/Perez in unorthodox panels, to story detriment (see image). Story- courting a young manga crowd, it’s passable. Braniac/Tenzil too similar to Alma/Tai in Gokurakugai for me. Powered siblings are also tropish.

Robert P. Glover @rpglover.bsky.social · 03/09/2026
-3rd arc: life integration vs ptsd vs hero training/adventures. Damian relationship. Impact to other family members. Other hero reactions. Jon understanding his sexuality, gracefully is broached as a theme. Uncertainty due to past abortive age reversions. Etc. just examples of what could work.
110
Robert P. Glover @rpglover.bsky.social · 03/09/2026
Great question. - 1st arc: Jon is young again, immediate impact to family/friends. Does he remember being aged up? - 2nd arc: School and regular life. Aged up Jon was still only 17, but missed middle school/high school- how does he reengage, how does that align with other priorities like heroing?

Robert P. Glover @rpglover.bsky.social · 03/09/2026
It seems all compensated comic-media pundits are either bots or executing the same bullet points: - “The Stranger is AMAZING” - “Finally I understand Superman, he’s accessible” - “What an incredible dramatic backdrop…” First issue? Story’s not good. Art/Colors? Great. $4.99 an issue? Questionable.

Robert P. Glover @rpglover.bsky.social · 03/09/2026
Superman: The Stranger. Gorgeous art, wrapping a poorly written, unneeded Superman deconstruction that resonates with a “feebly righteous” audience. Why would Jim Lee, Marie Javins and Chris Conroy spend budget dollars to publish this tripe?

“Do what comic professionals should do: finally assess the damage years of poor decision making has done, attempt to woo back the audience you alienated, the fans you’ve failed with aged up Jon Kent. Ably sell the property across titles. Save the IP. De-age Jon Kent-the REAL one. Fiat lux.”

Robert P. Glover @rpglover.bsky.social · 02/09/2026
“So again, DC editorial team/staff: age revert Jon Kent in continuity. No fakes. No Tomorrow Stiffs. No UltraBoy counterfeits. No more professional incompetence. To paraphrase McFarlane: ‘when you do your comic, people endorse it or they don’t.’ The fan majority has NOT endorsed aged up Jon.”

Robert P. Glover @rpglover.bsky.social · 02/09/2026
“DC’s poor decision making started in 2018, has continued to today- the Jon Kent IP suffering reduced sales, missed ancillary revenue opportunities and failures to attract an audience. Your only ‘positive’ achievements? Consistently poor stories, incompetent editing, and disaffected fans.”

Robert P. Glover @rpglover.bsky.social · 02/09/2026
I’d say, perhaps: “Both Quesada/Brevoort have quotes about ‘the best signal of failure in comics is readers voting with their dollars and feet.’ Like, fans abandoning DC. If true, I’m a contradiction: still here, a passionate fan, despite your failures, Kaminski and Javins, with aged up Jon Kent.”

So-Superman Unlimited was…limited. The massively incompetent cadre that steers this title are again promoting Tomorrow Stiff, failed/despised Jon Kent. That’s okay: NYCC is coming, DC editors and professionally deficient staff can explain themselves during fan Q&A, why they keep letting fans down.

Robert P. Glover @rpglover.bsky.social · 01/09/2026
I appreciate your thoughts/opinion. I am opposite-all aged up Jon Kent portrayals are failures, reflecting plots/stories that measurably failed fans, have not entertained nor progressed the IP in a quality manner. Aged up Jon Kent is the nadir of DC Comics…a permanent age reversion is required.

#comics #superman #jonkent Remember, friends- any DC Comic featuring the failed, aged up version of Jon Kent is sadly not worth your $3.99-plus. Even, New Titans. We are all waiting for NYCC, to tell DC creators and editors EXACTLY how we feel about failed Jon Kent and editorial incompetence.

@scifiworldtv.bsky.social When you absolutely, positively, need to deliver a package of hurt to any place in the galaxy- survival questionable, destruction massive- there is no platform that exceeds Uchū Senkan Yamato. Save the Earth? Sure. Kill a fleet? Hai. Surrender, ever? Hell, no.

It’s totally convenient. But, if you’d like to perform your own analysis, here are some keys: Plot construction: pacing, story arcs, how much stolen from anime? Character development: growth, consistency, were characters poor mash ups of distinct original properties? MAWS grades poorly.

Robert P. Glover @rpglover.bsky.social · 17/08/2026
You’re right, there WERE so many issues with Season 3.
100
Robert P. Glover @rpglover.bsky.social · 17/08/2026
If season 4 does not happen, it will be due to poor showrunners, badly written scripts, an obsession with including plot points from past anime like DBZ, and botched characterization.

Welcome to the byzantine continuity around Jon Kent-which, could be made simple and accessible to fans through the jettison of aged up Jon Kent/reversion to the best Jon Kent-young Jon. “Making the simple complicated is commonplace; making…complicated simple, awesomely simple, that's creativity"

Thanks, Dan. I appreciate your job, the difficulty to create/market solid, engaging stories. The Jon Kent age up is the hill I and the multitude of my peers refuse to concede. DC screwed it up in 2018, as badly as it could fail fans. Editorial must age revert. “Here I stand, I can do no other.”

Was asked about failed heroes today. “What though the field be lost? All is not lost; the unconquerable will, And study of revenge, immortal hate, And courage never to submit or yield.” - Milton (and, later, Moore with Rorschach)

Thanks for the reply. Ultimately, a heroic uphill journey would be young Jon growing in power, experience and his sexuality, not what disappointed fans since 2018. Also, heroism of the majority of fans of Jon Kent, requiring DC to age revert the failure in letters, posts, live engagement, etc.

@casuallycomics.bsky.social @jacethecomicsource.bsky.social and others have posted reviews of recent Superman Unlimited comics featuring on Kent. The truth remains, despite the click-bait posturing: aged up Jon Kent is a failure, young Jon Kent is what DC needs to invest in to save the IP.

Robert P. Glover @rpglover.bsky.social · 12/08/2026
Thanks for the podcast- older Jon Kent is definitely not “here to stay.” There’s only so much failure any publisher can inflict on fans-DC and their sad lineup of incompetent editors have maxed out with the Jon Kent IP. Dan Slott simply added to the refuse pile, encouraged by a cadre of dolts.
