Suddenly, the phone rang. Florence looked at her watch with a frown; in all of ten minutes, she'd be free from the hectic atmosphere of this place. She sighed and looked at the number: it was from the 38th floor. Confused, she lifted the phone to her ear,
"Hello?"
"Where the fuck are you?"
A pang of mild panic made pills of cold sweat immediately bead on the back of her neck, "I'm still in my office."
"The fuck you are, I'm on the secretary floor, using some decrepit asshole's phone because you ain't here."
Her eyebrows shot up, "Sir, I'm on the floor below you. They moved me so I'd be more available."
"GodDAMMI-" the line cut.
She looked at the phone in her hand and replaced it on the cradle, her eyes scrolling up towards her clear view of the elevator. She braced herself, opening the door wide to seem as accessible an assistant as possible. Two minutes later, the sun streamed through her window and lit up Soldier Boy who was quickly crossing the entire floor, boots solidly landing with each step. He stopped in the doorway with his characteristic glower, "How in the fuck was I supposed to know you're here. The directory said you're still on 38."
"You used the directory?"
"No, the other secretary did. The one I dragged out of the hall."

The first time I tried to write a story was while I was sick. When I was sick as a kid, I’d be secluded in my room. I wasn’t bedridden, but my mother didn’t want to get anyone else sick. So I was bored and alone and I wrote about meeting Jesse McCartney. Writing keeps you company.
