To so prominently pile on to issues of a small and marginalized community only gives it more life, only makes trans people less safe (like people in my own family). I was so very disheartened that you did not lead with compassion to an audience that rarely sees it in action. After all, you very vocally follow and use in your campaign the teachings of a man who did not shun the leper, the prostitute, poor, the needy, the stranger.

I do not live in TX and would still vote for you if I did but, after your remarks I would not be proud to do so but more as a "lesser evil." And I certainly will not be supporting your campaign with any donations now.
