I made some acrylic treasure tokens! ✨✨✨ No idea if these would be practical to use, but I just wanted to make more shiny things. I'm selling small a trial run at the Spotlight: The Hobbit event in Brisbane next week. Maybe eventually I'll put them up in my shop :)

While we're on the topic of shiny things; I also made antique book cover inspired tokens! Yes that is a ✨surge foil✨ bin chicken on the bird token.

(Each saga is based on a poem from The Hobbit - I forgot to mention this 🫠) Here are the corresponding cards:

More saga illustrations for #MTGHOB! The poems are my favourite parts of LOTR and The Hobbit (controversial take I know), so all of this was a delight.

I illustrated a whole bunch of sagas for #MTGxTheHobbit! Here's the first; Burn, Burn Tree and Fern. AD Cassie Murphy. The brief called for a watercolour style similar to that of Tolkien's illustrations.

Since Mystical Archives cards are meant to look like they came out of a spellbook, I made a book inspired case for one of my Force of Will APs ✨📘✨ This will be available in my shop next week (more details soon)!

Bookbinding continues. One thing lead to another and I bought a Cricut so I could cut out shapes and do foiling on the cover. I am out of control 😭

So I'm making some weird experimental stuff again. It's Universes Beyond MTG x bookbinding 🙃

It seems so obvious now, but why don't I ever do shapes within shapes?!?!??? Accidentally stumbled into this while making a silly little sticker to include with my shop orders omg. I literally think this is the best, most elegant thing I have made in recent memory. 🫠

I wanted the endpapers to look like marbled paper, but instead of making or sourcing it like a normal person, I took the unhinged option and *hand painted* it, just so I could weave spooky creature shapes into the marbling :) Endpapers:

The idea was to make the book appear like an old spellbook, with scribbled annotations and antique bookbinding elements. Reverse jacket illustration:

I love ravens and crows because sometimes they're perceived as a little bit spooky or mysterious, but actually they're just dorky chaotic trash goblins. And I relate to all of the above, a lot.

How To Live A Good Life #oldknees

The first panel shows a crow with the title "How to live a good life". The second panel shows a crow cawing at itself in the mirror with the subheading "Make friends". The next panel says "Explore" and shows a crow looking into a commercial waste bin. The next says "Try new things" with a crow eating something vile. The next one says "Be curious" and shows the crow grabbing a hissing cat's tail". The final frame says "Get a hobby" and shows the crow looking closely at a book of matches.
