All things considered, it could be worse.
Sure, Shuichi's trapped in a strange school with a group of strangers and no memory of how he got here, and there are creepy robot bears roaming the halls, and everyone's apparently being filmed for some kind of matchmaking reality TV show, but— but it could be worse.
Nothing bad has happened so far. Not really. Nothing like what he's read in police files for kidnapping cases. Everyone has an assigned room, there's a warehouse with just about anything they might find themselves needing, the kitchen gets restocked every day, and the campus has amenities that would make a five-star hotel jealous. It's just that they're... not allowed to leave.
"Not until youse fall in love," the striped orange bear had told them. "So ya'd better get smoochin'!"

An ancient crypt, dusty and draped in cobwebs, rumbles as its stone door grinds open. From within comes the sound of rattling chains and a frail voice that creaks out the most pathetic "We're back, baby" you have ever heard.
