I try to honestly assess what I'm watching. I think they're poor. They were lucky against Bournemouth & have scored with almost all of their chances (unsustainable). They're giving up loads of chances too. Players arguing amongst themselves last night. They've lost the xG count in every game. 😵‍💫

I got called out for saying that the Toon tactical plan looked a bit "simplistic" against Liverpool earlier in the season. Well, I can confirm, the plan at Elland Road last night was "long ball". Maybe Gross over Szob was the choice on WC4 BUT my reason was I'd only have played him today and vs Palace, and I reckon mins are riskier once Europe is in full flow. So I'm not crying over spilt milk - the decision making was sound, and nobody thought Fulham were cleaning yesterday 🤷

Since I'm planning to roll through to GW7 after WC4, and therefore have the maximum 5xFT, I think the move here is to keep De Cuyper on WC4 (esp. as one more rise gains me 0.1). I do sort of buy this, to be fair. The penalty was a totally unforeseen turning point. Nonetheless, I do feel that if seriously, seriously cared about winning it, he would have made his big changes to counteract theirs (at half time, or at 0-2). He clearly prioritised Toon & freshness. Fine. #lufc

Obviously, Palmer's second is a superb goal that almost nobody is ever saving. Low xG. Just genius finishing. So Palmer & Rogers definitely injected quality. But it literally felt like they scored every single time they shot. We were fine. Some silly errors. But Bogle, DCL, Stach will help us. #lufc

Chelsea had 2.40 xG to #lufc 2.39. They scored 6 goals from 2.40 xG - that's just downright bizarre. I still don't really know what that game was. If that was their xG, then approx 0.76 of it is accounted for via a soft penalty. Bizarre football match.

I feel that's honestly been a very weird second half. Everything they touched turned to a goal. I'm not sure we were awful but it's hard to find your best levels when you make so many changes, and it affects defensive solidity. Hopefully no injuries & we simply have to move on to Monday 💙💛 #lufc

Another positive today is the fitness of Gudmundsson. Also, Elvedi looks very tidy, and Tanaka is in form. Okafor will only improve with more minutes in the legs. Overall, a productive day at the seaside for #lufc 💙💛👊
