I read this article tonight (dl.acm.org/doi/full/10....), which appears to be a late-breaking work with follow-on studies planned, and already pointing to evidence of the noise pollution as a start. I'll be keeping an eye out to read more :-)

existing datacenters (of comparable size), measuring effects on communities around. I do hope that these decisions are being made with the permission and careful consideration of the policymakers (and people) who reside in the areas in question. Thanks for sharing this.

I share these concerns around pollution and resource consumption, especially considering that these are located around people who may be adversely impacted. I'm more aware of the costs of datacenters in Ireland after reading the article you shared, thanks. Is your largest concern the need for more electricity to be generated, consumption of water resources / heat output, or something else? Do you think there is any benefit in datacenters being built?

Exactly! Cooperative perception (enabled by cooperating devices on other vehicles and infrastructure, for example) help vehicles to "see" in distant or occluded areas, and makes it possible for safer and better-informed decision-making.
