Was at the grocery store today looking for a spice mix that was close enough to what a recipe calls for. Found something that looked promising based on the name, but when I turned it around to check the ingredients, it just said spices and salt. 💀 How is that allowed?? That's not helpful.

(9/9) Cosplay-wise, this was a relatively chill year. Costumes weren't too uncomfortable other than the heels on Friday for Fern. I am defs glad that I decided to not cosplay Sunday though. I am too old to be cosplaying all 3 days lol. Shoots all went well though which is always nice!

(8/9) My only other gripe this year was that the board game room was packed all weekend because they made it smaller compared to prev years. Really hoping they expand it again next year because it was impossible to find a table and this is usually my group's go-to space in between other events.

(7/?) We'd be in line for a panel 15+ mins in advance only for the line not to move and for the room to be full. The staff was also terrible about communicating this to the people waiting in line. I had to leave the line to check the room only took see that it was full and just leave in frustration.

(6/?) My one major complaint re: panels this year was that the con/staff were terrible about clearing the room after each panel, especially ones where there was a line for the following panel. Panel room 515AB was particularly bad about this. We ended up dubbing it the cursed panel room.

(5/?) We didn't go to a huge amount of panels this con, but we made an effort to go to at least one a day. The otome game panel on Friday and the weird/funny video game panel on Sunday were the standouts to me.

(4/?) We got the bulk our our shopping in Dealer's and Artist Alley done on Friday. My hubby and I agreed that we'll defs do this again next year. Not having to carry around stuff all three days was nice. It also let us avoid the Saturday crowd which is always horrible, especially in cosplay.

(3/?) The weather sucked as per usual, but at least it didn't rain *too much* when periodic rain showers were predicted, so I'll take that as a win. I'm mostly laughing at how both the weekend before and immediately after the con, the weather was sooo much nicer, but I guess c'est la vie.

(2/?) This year was a good year but was defs more on the chill side. A part of my normal Otakuthon crew couldn't make it, and we didn't do any concerts this year, so it was defs more quiet than usual. No con crud for any of us though, so yay!

(1/2) I'm surprised this needs to be said, but a PSA to anyone applying for a job: Never ask the person setting up the interview to send you the job description. It makes you look incredibly disorganized and unable/unwilling to put in a minimal amount of effort.

(17/19) - Lune was generally pretty comfy on Sunday but I'm gonna aim to go back to 2 cosplays next year. I like having my Sundays be slow, no stress, cosplay free days. Cosplaying on Sunday defs didn't help my overall exhaustion levels.

(15/19 -I found out that some guests charged $100 for autographs which blew my mind. I know this is common practice at ComicCon/more corpa events, but it's always been free even for larger guests at Otakuthon in my experience. I guess it's just been a long time since I've gotten a guest's autograph?

(14/19) I don't understand putting the Kinton booth at the end of the VG room. It's so out of the way and was also hella expensive. A friend bought one of their mini ramens & it was not worth it. In their words, it did not make them want to visit Kinton in the future but actually did the opposite.

(13/19) - The new video game space was really cool. Not sure how people who actually use the space felt but as someone who just walked through it, it was super neat and it was so nice and quiet. A good break from the overstimulation of the rest of the con.

(11/19) - Really appreciated the move of the concerts to Place des Arts not only for circulation reasons but also because it was assigned seating. It made the whole concert going experience less stressful/take up less of the day (with having to line up early) which was wonderful.
