The Houthis “have confirmed what might be called Trump’s iron-clad Law of Military Achievement: The number of times the president claims victory is inversely proportional to the actual extent of American military success,” @rosesheinerman.bsky.social writes.

Trump has bent many democratic traditions, but there’s one he’s discarded all together—he’s put his name and face on things while still in office, @rosesheinerman.bsky.social reports. See the places where he’s affixed his name and image, and where he still hopes to.

Many of the ethics scandals of Trump’s first term—Scott Pruitt’s $43,000 phone booth, Ivanka Trump’s endorsement of Goya beans—seem almost quaint, @rosesheinerman.bsky.social argues. Now watchdog groups are more alarmed, and they’re racing to keep up, she reports.

Trump’s Counterproductive Counter-Narcotics Campaign

My first byline in @theatlantic.com out today: By Trump’s account, his campaign of lethal strikes is an attempt to extinguish powerful drug cartels, not a prelude to attempted regime change in Venezuela. But even by that standard, the operation is already proving counterproductive. (see link ⤵️)
