Hey Fam! Here's a REALLY easy "action" you can encourage all your friends to do. Just send them this email (or your version of it), and have them send it to their peeps. That's it. Friends get friends involved. More people DON'T pay attention than do, and MANY don't understand the #JunglePrimary.

Dear California friends,

Please forgive me for sending you some unsolicited voting advice, which you may choose to ignore if you like. I’m sending it to you because I’m quite involved in politics, and may be paying closer attention to this election than you are. Hopefully, you are a voter! And if you’re not, I lovingly urge you to become one. In California, you can register the same day you vote!!

So, here’s my perspective:

THE DILEMMA: California has a “jungle primary” – which means only the top two candidates make it onto the November ballot – even if they’re from the same party. Right now, the top two candidates are Republicans Steve Hilton and Chad Bianco. Democrats have THREE candidates, therefore splitting our vote!! If we aren’t careful, NO Democrat will be on the November ballot, and the world’s 4th largest economy could be handed to a Republican. I believe that any one of the Dems (each with flaws) would be a better Governor than either Republican. We need a Governor who will push back against the federal government, not rubber stamp it.

THE STRATEGY: Avoid having only Republicans on the November ballot. DO NOT VOTE EARLY. DO NOT VOTE UNTIL POLLING IS FINISHED. Then vote for the Dem who is ahead in the polls. We cannot be one-issue voters, or practice purity politics this time. Too much is at stake.

I recommend voting via dropbox; there’s probably one at your local library. This allows you to vote ON Election Day, as long as it’s in the dropbox by 8pm on June 2. You can also drop off your ballot at ANY voting center/polling place without standing in line.

I know people on Bsky know this but I hope it filters out: The feds are OCCUPYING the Twin Cities. This is a blockade, a siege. They are shutting down economic and civic activity. They are conducting "papers please" stops. They are criminalizing being a bystander/witness. You could be next.
