The cardiologist explained the triple cardiac bypass surgery that needs to be done. He explained to me that it is an open chest triple cardiac bypass. Recovery will be several weeks in the hospital and several months at my sister's home. Karen will have to go to skilled nursing while I recover.

Just been visiting my 96yo dad in his care home. His carers are overwhelmingly from Africa or South Asia. Most of them could earn more shelf stacking. It’s an immigrant that puts him to bed and gets him up. It’s an immigrant who feeds him. It’s an immigrant who cleans him. They are not ‘strangers’.
