i wouldn't say it's (gardens of the moon) the worst book i've ever read in my life lol but it's definitely the book i struggled with reading the most this year (according to storygraph i first logged it in 2024 so i've been reading it on and off for 7+ months) so i'm glad to be done with it finally

i looked up a beginner's character guide for the first book which helped me get some bearings on what's going on faction-wise at least... i want to try and at least finish reading gardens of the moon and then maybe try the second book later

unfortunately it's approx a 20 week wait before i can borrow the audiobook from the library.... i saw some reviews of the audiobook version saying they needed to follow along with the physical book to get a better grasp of what was happening so idk how helpful it will be anyways 🤦🏻‍♀️

oh i forgot to say the book, it's gardens of the moon by steven erikson... it was on a list of 'best fantasy books' and i love the fantasy genre which is why i started reading it but unfortunately it's not a best read for me so far

i looked at the reviews on storygraph and i'm not the only one that's confused at least lol... (it also doesn't help that i had to borrow the book multiple times from the library so there's been a sizeable gap between reading sessions) i'll have a think about whether or not i'll continue reading
