Word count: 1,537 for a pre-written scene that will be inserted later. How is it that I learned more about my characters in a pre-written smut scene than I have writing about them for the past year?

I feel like the Catholic school to hardcore romance smut author pipeline should be studied. Source: Went to Catholic school, now I’m writing my first romance book with smut in it.

Has anyone updated to Windows 11 yet? How bad is it? I’ve been avoiding updating my computer because of all the horror stories, and now my ONLY options are ‘update & restart’ or ‘update & shut down’

Some days you don’t write a single word, you lose yourself in research to better tell the story you have in your mind. Today, I’ve been binge-watching documentaries about the Regency period to better inform myself of etiquette and political drama of the time.

People don’t tell you that writing a book isn’t just splurging onto a page. A lot of it is sitting in silent contemplation of what direction a scene should take.

Sometimes I have to watch something historical to regain faith in what democracy is supposed to be, how the founding fathers wanted the United States governed, and how we’ve fought since to expand the rights to everyone in our country. Lately, that something has been John Adams with Paul Giamaty.

Sometimes as a writer, you have to remind yourself that you chose this subject, so you have to follow through INCLUDING the bits you always hate writing.

Stephen Miller just said the quiet part out loud claiming that Trump has plenary authority when it comes to deploying troops. (Plenary means full authority.) After making the statement, he froze completely, like a deer in headlights. The video is worth watching.

I realized today I have a habit with some of my ships. If I have a thing for a character or two characters in a fandom, I’ll read them in a gay ship. Latest example: I like Matt Murdoch, I like Frank Castle. READ FANFIC ABOUT THEM!!

I can already predict what’s going to happen in #TheLastOfUsSeason2 because I’m a gamer who has played parts 1 & 2 several times. I am burdened with the knowledge of this fandom’s upcoming heartbreak.

I can’t be the only one who thinks the story behind making a scene in a movie is just as important as the scene, right? Like Ellie and Joel at the ranch in The Last Of Us? One take, minor animation changes. Rodeo scene in Twisters? They scheduled AROUND a real rodeo crew. #film #games #nerd

#fanfiction Blue Sky, hear me now: STOP WRITING ABOUT TRANS CHARACTERS GETTING RAPED!!! It’s such a fucking disgusting trend!! Just because a dude has a vagina does not mean you write a rape scenario. Let’s TRY to write dudes without sexual trauma!!

Does anyone else get so into reading your stories that you visualize it, step away to do something, then nearly open your preferred streaming service up because the story was THAT good at painting a visual picture that you forgot it was a fanfic? #fanfiction #reading

Does anybody else have a love-hate relationship with Threads? Some days, it’s there in my apps and I sometimes post stuff. Other days, morality kicks in and I delete it. But THEN I get sent threads on Instagram by my friends and I reinstall it. It’s a never-ending cycle.

“Why is so much fanfiction gay?” It’s not only that canon heterosexual romances are written terribly and only to fill a need, it’s that the male best friends will do 1,000% more for their bros than they would for their canon WIVES!! It took until Game of Thrones for me to have het ships again.
