Another late night recording the podcast. There has to be a better way to do this!?

They managed to make Croke Park's playing surface fairly nice considering there was a hosepipe ban all week. Meanwhile, Pearse Stadium yesterday ⬇️ Still would rather water used for the pitches rather than Meta's DC.

Hard to believe its been 14 years! Being a Microsoft MVP has been an honour. Thank you to Microsoft and to anyone who has bothered to read a blog post, listen to a podcast episode or attend a presentation I have delivered over the years. 🙏

Been on strong meds all year. I was struggling through Catch 22, it was too complicated for my brain in its current state so I bought shorter books to read. I read Small Things Like These in its entirety this weekend (110 pages). Difficult subject matter but the easiest read of my life. Read it📚

Yesterday I went to create a new Windows 365 Provisioning policy but the menu for doing so was missing. Acess is now back but it looks like the UI got an update - probably for the new features announced during Microsoft BUILD.

For my 3rd time in 18 months, I attempted to feed some GenAI platforms a long form sample podcast episode script from a previous episode and links to stories I wish to cover on this week's episode in the hopes it can generate a usable script but nope...they still deliver a load of shite.

Everyone else get an email from BlueSky? Reads like: Hey, don't worry about the lack of engagement, it is part of the platform's charm 😂 Although I don't post here all that often, I do enjoy reading the posts. It is becoming a useful platform, imo.

2.) A dumb little easter is the thumbnail image for Episode 350 which features that god damn Loch Ness Monster: (This is a reference to a really old episode of South Park: www.youtube.com/watch?v=pS_z...)

There are a couple of easter eggs within my podcast. 1.) A little nerdy easter egg is that there is no episode 404:

Screenshot of episode guide that shoes Episode 403 and 405 with no Episode 404.

Hey now! The long standing App-V Sequencer errors in the Windows ADK has been resolved. Looks like there is a typo in the versioning now but we won't fall out over that! www.rorymon.com/blog/app-v-s...

I attended Pwn2Own in Cork ☘️ last week. I shared a review of the event on this week's episode of my podcast. You can find that at 14:41 in the video linked here ⬇️ www.youtube.com/watch?v=aaLA... Thanks to @dustinchilds.bsky.social & @thezdi.bsky.social for allowing me to attend. ❤️

Every week when I check Apple Podcasts to see if the new episode has reached there yet, I feel enraged that they purged the reviews multiple times. A podcast that has been consistently uploaded every week since January 2018 only shows 4 reviews because they delete ratings and reviews willy nilly.

Rory Monaghan @rorymon.com · 01/10/2025

I surprised myself by just spending my entire evening and night working on the episode and got it out early. Incentivized by the need to get next week's episode early due to work travel for AppManagEvent and a customer visit.

I watched The Miami Showband Massacre documentary last night on Netflix. A few weeks ago, I read Four Shots in the Night by Henry Hemming. Both pieces of work are worth a look and highlight how grim the situation in Ireland was and continued to be until just a few years ago really.

Recording the next episode of the podcast! Hope to have it out tomorrow or Friday. 🎧 As an aside, I tried using ChatGPT to help generate the script this week and it failed miserably. The hard graft of scripting, recording, editing and publishing continues.

The host really tempted fate when asking who would be travelling to Galway after Salthill Devon's name was drawn. Maybe it can be played in Eamonn Deacy Park with Salthill as the home club?
