FIA says it will be investigating what happened during the formation laps of the #BahrainGP after "an unintended loss of power for a number of cars." #F1
FIA STATEMENT

On the formation lap ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia, an unprecedented combination of low engine speed, low-grip conditions, wet-weather energy management settings and the Sepang circuit’s sector configuration led to an unintended loss of power for a number of cars.

As a result, the FIA Technical Department removed the energy limit constraint in the affected sectors through an updated software release distributed to all competitors during the race delay caused by heavy rain enabling teams to make the necessary changes to the Power Unit before the start of the race.

This issue had not been detected by the FIA or the teams during testing or during the laps to the grid. The FIA, together with the teams and Power Unit manufacturers, will undertake a full review of the issue.

Audi has shared plans for a new F1 campus in Hinwil, Switzerland. The existing site on Wildbachstrasse will be redeveloped as the team's manufacturing centre and wind tunnel. Elements of it became operational in Summer this year, with full development scheduled for 2030. #F1
New Audi F1 campus in Hinwil, Switzerland.

Mattia Binotto, CEO and Team Principal of Audi Revolut F1 Team, said:

“The Campus will play an important role in helping us attract and retain world-class talent while providing the foundations required to achieve our long-term ambitions.”

“Building a successful Formula 1 team is ultimately about people. The best engineers, designers, mechanics and specialists want to work in an environment that allows them to collaborate, innovate and perform at their highest level. The Campus will help us create exactly that environment.”

“What makes this project particularly special is that it allows us to shape the future of Audi Revolut F1 Team from the ground up. Opportunities like this are rare in modern Formula 1. We are not simply moving into an existing facility; we are creating a home designed around our people, our culture and our ambitions. This Campus is an important part of that journey.

“We are proud that the next chapter of Audi Revolut F1 Team will be written in Hinwil and I would like place on record my thanks to the Municipality of Hinwil itself.”

"After the race, I sent Franco a message apologising for the comments I made that I simply should not have said. I know better and emotions were running high but that is not an excuse, it was wrong of me. I've made mistakes of my own over the years and I know this is very much a part of racing and fighting on the limit.

"Me and Franco came to a good understanding, are still good friends and are both excited to get back racing this weekend."

Alpine has once again issued a statement condemning online hate and abuse, following yesterday's #AzerbaijanGP. #F1
TEAM STATEMENT

As a team, we feel it's necessary to speak out once more about the hate and abuse online following the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Not only aimed at one of our own drivers, but also members of the Formula One community, including media, and to our racing counterparts who we respect, admire, and revel competing against in the pinnacle of motorsport. Mistakes happen when racing at the limit and no matter the result or outcome, nobody should be subject to hateful or abusive comments.

Condemning abuse on social media is not aimed at any one fan base or the supporters of one team or driver, this is universal and should be called out and recognised to all fans of the sport. As we have said n previous instances, we strongly condemn the reaction of some fans online and stand in solidarity with Formula One, the FIA, and other teams in wanting to stamp it out. It has become a regular occurrence in recent races and cannot be condoned.

We know as a proud participant and stakeholder in the sport, we hold a responsibility to speak out and also help support in finding a solution. We will continue to work closely with the championship promoter and rights-holder, and the governing body to discuss ways in which to tackle online abuse and encourage healthy sporting rivalry, which Formula One is renowned for and what makes it so special.

The ICA has issued a statement following Briatore's comments. It says all parties were invited during the hearing "to raise any issues concerning proceedings or composition of the court" and that "none did so" nor did anyone raise any objections concerning how the court questioned witnesses. #F1
The FIA Courts are aware of public comments questioning the independence and
impartiality of the judges of the panel that decided Case ICA-2026-06-07-08-09.

The FIA Courts wish to make clear that the appointment and participation of the judges in that case, like for any other case, were conducted in accordance with the applicable FlA judicial procedures and usual practice, which are inspired by the highest standards like the IBA Guidelines on Conflicts of Interest in International ArbitrationAll judges are elected by the FIA General Assemblies, some of them upon proposition of a group of at least five F1 teams in accordance with the FIA Statutes. They are all subject to the independence and confidentiality requirements contained in the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, make annual disclosures of interests to the FIA Compliance Officer, and sign a specific declaration of independence for each particular case in consideration of the issue at stake and the parties involved, which is served to the parties.

At both the beginning and conclusion of the hearing, the parties were invited to raise any issue concerning the proceedings or the composition of the Court. None did so. No objection was raised during the hearing concerning the manner in which the Court questioned the witness or conducted the proceedings. The ICA emphasizes the importance of constituting panels with judges from different cultural and geographical backgrounds. This helps ensure that the deliberations and discussions reflect a diversity of legal traditions, perspectives and approaches, further strengthening the fairness, independence, credibility of the process and access to a fair trial.

A Court's decision can leave room for various interpretations and comments as for its legal merits; that is fair and accepted by all the judges. The Court is confident in the soundness of the proceedings and the integrity of the judges. The FIA Courts remain committed to the independence and impartiality of their judges and to the
integrity of the judicial process,.

I've read the full 26-page ICA document, and a few key parts of the ruling stand out (below). Effectively, neither Alpine nor FOM could provide an accurate measurement of the pit lane post-race because the track was dismantled - as is usual - in its right-of-review ruling. (1/3) #F1 #ItalianGP
88. First, the principal alternative figure of 2615 cm was not a tape measurement of the kind
ordinarily entered into the OTS. It was derived after the Race from GNSS data.

Mr Karapetian confirmed that GNSS is used for reference and sense-checking and that
the value entered into the OTS is a physical tape measurement. He further confirmed
that the 2615 cm figure itself would not have been entered into the pit-speed calculation
software. No tape measurement of the later-selected line was ever performed under
the conditions of the Monaco GP.

89. Second, the post-race reconstruction of the relevant physical geometry was not
complete. FOM could not reproduce the event-week conditions by tape measurement
after the street circuit had been dismantled. Mr Karapetian could not confirm what infrastructure and barriers were present when the original measurement was taken, and
uncertainty arose at the hearing concerning the provenance and date of material relied
upon to depict the barrier configuration. Those matters do not establish that FOM's later
geometry was necessarily wrong, but they prevent the Court from treating it as an exact
recreation of the conditions under which the official parameter was selected.90. Third, neither FOM nor Alpine established the actual distance travelled by Car 10. The
uncontested elapsed times were 1.604 seconds and 1.602 seconds. On those times, Car
10 would have been below 60 km/h only if the actual travelled distances were no more
than approximately 2673 cm and 2670 cm respectively. Mr Karapetian accepted that he
had no evidence establishing those actual distances. Alpine's reconstruction was
expressly described at the hearing as a "best estimate"; Mr. Greenwood, of Alpine, when
asked, accepted that it could not be stated with centimetric certainty and that the
exercise only imperfectly accounted for variables such as camera-lens distortion.90. For those reasons, and applying Article A7.10.1 to the fuller de novo record before it,
the Court finds that the post-race material is insufficient to displace the evidentiary
result produced by application of the contemporaneous official benchmark. That
material demonstrates that an alternative geometric approach produces a different
notional distance. It does not, however, establish Car 10's actual travelled distance or
actual average speed, and the Court is unable on the evidence to determine those
matters independently of the OTS in either direction. Accordingly, the Court does not
adopt the Stewards' further observation that the evidence approached proof beyond
reasonable doubt. This conclusion does not depend upon the Court's finding that the
parameter remained fixed for the Competition: even if that parameter could be
displaced after the Competition, the material relied upon would not support a positive
finding that the limit was respected.

Alpine statement: The team maintains that Gasly did not exceed the pit lane speed limit at any point, and while they express disappointment, they acknowledge the decision from the panel. #F1 #ItalianGP
Team Statement

The team expresses its disappointment and frustration with the outcome reached by the FIA International Court of Appeal relating to the result of the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix.

While we disagree with the decision, and still fully maintain that Car #10 did not exceed the Pit Lane speed limit at any point during the race, the team acknowledges the decision of the judging panel from the recent hearing in Paris.

While the result is not what we had hoped for, as we feel that we have been unjustly punished, the team is firmly focused on continuing to improve its performance on track and remains in a close and very competitive Championship fight.

This outcome will not deter the team's efforts and motivation in achieving its objectives by the end of the season.

Practice starts during the reconnaissance laps prior to the Sprint and the Race:
Cars wishing to perform a practice start should leave the pit lane using the Pit Exit Road and must
NOT cross the white line separating the Pit Exit Road from the circuit. They may stop in the area
immediately prior to the Safety Car Line, as shown in the image below, and perform a practice start.
All such cars MUST then join the circuit from the Pit Exit Road. Cars queuing to perform a practice
must keep to the right-hand side of the Pit Exit Road to allow sufficient space for cars not wishing to
do a practice start to pass. Cars NOT wishing to perform a practice start should leave the pit lane
and MUST cross the white lines separating the Pit Exit Road from the track at the earliest opportunity,
prior to the start of the dashed line (where the track edge intersects the Pit Exit Road, marked with
the Red arrow on the image below) and join the “normal” racing line. All such cars MUST NOT cross
back into the Pit Exit Road.

Under no circumstances can drivers perform a practice start if another F1 Car remains stationary in
front of them.

But the main thing is that we are in one piece, therefore a big thank you to the team for building such a strong car. Also I need to thank Julien for taking good care of me immediately after the impact and reassuring my family I am well.
