New in #G3journal: @kousloan.bsky.social, @roperlabiui.bsky.social, and the team characterized bone strength in the Ts66Yah #Downsyndrome mouse model across development and compared structural and mechanical phenotypes with the traditional Ts65Dn model. 🦴 🐁 🔗 buff.ly/D963x3t

We are so grateful to our friends at Down Syndrome Indiana 💙💛 and the IU Indianapolis School of Science 🐆 for coming together to this year’s Science Night 🧪 In addition to isolating DNA from strawberries 🍓, we built DNA molecules 🧬 and made mice 🐭 after shuffling genes

In celebration of World Down Syndrome Day 💛💙, we are joining with Down Syndrome Indiana again to do science experiments 🧪 and activities 🍓 while learning about Down syndrome research 🧬
Flyer for Science Night at Indiana University Indianapolis with Down Syndrome Indiana and the Roper Lab. Description says: Isolate DNA from fruits and other fun science experiments as you join us to learn more about our research to better understand Trisomy 21. The event will be held Thursday, March 20th from 6 to 7:30 PM at the Science and Engineering Laboratory Building. Scan the WR code to sign up. Design features logos for the Roper Lab, Down Syndrome Indiana, and the IU Indianapolis School of Science on a glittery, star-filled background with DNA helixes, science flasks, fruits, and three chromosomes to represent Trisomy 21.

Roper lab t-shirts for 2025 are live! This year’s theme is Indiana Bones and the Researchers of the Extra Chromosome. Thank you to the artist, Ava Tankersley (akt.jpeg on Insta) for bringing our idea to life! Get them by Monday, September 25 here: bit.ly/4pn0HDq
Magenta t-shirt with the following text “The Adventures of Indiana Bones, Researchers of the Extra Chromosome Produced by Trisomy 21 Studios and the Roper Lab.” The t-shirt image features an orange archway with yellow and magenta DNA helixes and a mouse as Indiana Jones with a pipet and DNA whip fleeing as a brain-boulder chases.
