On a night a community waits on tenderhooks, to treat a serious issue like this jst to make a needlessly bitchy comment to troll people who want a railway... Genuine amenity campaigns don't engage in such disgusting anonymous online trolling. This is low even for collooney greenways campaign.

Not sure ILMI are active on bsky so boosting this mornings launch of the groundbreaking research on disabled people's experience with impairment label prescription medication conducted by ILMI/NW drugs and alcohol taskforce. The report is available in pdf and word on ILMIs website #spéirghorm
The published report with the tagline Medication I just take it anyway-like I dont have a choice and the Lived Experience Report Sheet. Image of the researchers in front of a projection showing the list of speakers for the event.

Meanwhile in Sligo County Council....
The amount of developments being prevented in Sligo due to being on a flood plain has been called “scandalous”.

The comments were made by Cllr Paul Taylor who highlighted that it’s an issue occurring across the country.

It’s understood that a farmer was unable to build on his own land due to it being a flood risk.

Cllr Taylor says the chance of flood is highly unlikely and not a good enough reason to stop housing.

Ive signed up to this and would encourage disabled folks to contribute to submissions. In simple terms, Ireland will be up for review re the UNCRPD and these submissions will to help the UN committee understand what questions they should ask the state about its implementation. #Spéirghorm

Ironically his fb says hes a peace commissioner....
Social media guidelines
Peace Commissioners must respect the integrity of the office and to behave to the highest standards. This obligation applies to comments on social media platforms or other public fora.

You should be aware of the implications of engaging in social media and online conversations. Comments made in a personal capacity can sometimes be attributed or perceived as the official position of the Department of Justice.

When using social media, whether in a personal capacity or otherwise, Peace Commissioners are required to:

Ensure their actions do not bring the Office of Peace Commissioner into disrepute
Use caution, common sense and exhibit sound judgment before posting to online platforms
Respect the views and opinions of others
Avoid unnecessary confrontation
Be respectful of all individuals, races, religions and cultures
Refrain from using slurs, insults or obscenities at all times
Be considerate of others’ privacy
Refrain from describing themselves as employees of the Department of Justice
In the event of any breach of these guidelines the Minister for Justice reserves the right to remove a Peace Commissioner from office.
