Slightly drunk Thanks Cas:U community. I was expecting you to be full of edgy torture porn assholes but Ive met some of the sweetest and supportive people. We're all just a bunch of traumatized dogs that believe we deserve better.

It's the fact you can *heat up* a vacuum with a little electric heater that gets me the most.

It's from Cybranian Events. Has a chance to rando ly fire, and it slowly reduces light levels to zero, and drops global temperatures significantly. It also changes the world map, a once temperate planet is now a ball of ice.

Rook @rookmaevsch.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

It is taking the combined waste heat of over 10 bio ferrite heaters to keep the central area barely above freezing. Is this what the frozen layer is going to be like...?

Clocking in for another shift at the skull-smashing factory. Despite the repeated brain damage they're relatively happy and healthy thanks to Braingrow being safe and reliable at this point (and apple juice). They're part of a long-term study on the effects of repeated brain damage-Braingrow healing cycles.

another -80C as well as leaving the world permanently dark.

110

Rook @rookmaevsch.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Oh yeah, I was using 300+ mods. Turns out the thing that broke the save was a recent update to a mod called Integrated Implants. So the save might be salvageable! I had an extreme climate change event hit that pushed global temps down by -60C, then a year later the sun died and pushed it down-

120

Rook @rookmaevsch.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Pretty much! Sadly the Generator from VQE doesn't output any heat. And vanilla heaters aren't strong enough to handle -200C. Honestly I was just waiting for the Vanilla Events Expanded Whiteout to occur and send the planet into absolute zero.

*Cries in 7.3k hours of Rimrim time*

020

Rook @rookmaevsch.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Honestly, that was less by choice and more by force. The outdoor temperatures got so cold I had to consolidate everything into something I could heat easily. That central area was being heated by the collective waste heat of *EIGHT* bio-ferrite heaters.

Rook @rookmaevsch.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

At my highest point, I had around 30+ pawns. Most I've ever had in one colony was about 80, I think? It's a generational colony, so the age rates were jacked up to x22, by the time I last played, I'd had over 100 pawns be born, live and die

031

Rook @rookmaevsch.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Yeah... I wish I knew what caused it. I was playing just fine earlier today, stopped to take a break, loaded back up and bam, bricked. Some day, I will reach the spacer era with a generational colony. But today is not that day.

010

Rook @rookmaevsch.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Aah, gotta' love when Rimworld breaks entirely and totally bricks not just your save, but all the backups and autosaves too :') Lasted about an IRL week, maybe a bit longer. And would have lasted longer still if not for the game deciding it would break. But, here's a 'timelapse' of sorts.
