Remembering the time when St. Vincent, with her two full albums under her belt, gave this unknown guy a shot by teaming up. Turns out, they were "kindred spirits" or something. Anyway, it was a nice gesture on Annie's part, yeah?

The first time I was going to see him play a solo show, I was expecting a much more “folky” affair than his blistering electric band shows. A guy strumming while sitting in a stool. But nope— he was rocking like Buddy Holly, while playing bass,rhythm, and lead simultaneously on his Lowden. Thrilling

Ah, cool. I've never caught Cockburn live, but have seen TR many times, going back to '83 at the Bottom Line in NYC with a full, scorching band and up to his acoustic tour this year with wife Zoe. Equally powerful and intense whether solo or with a band.

Always listed as one of the greatest live albums ever. And to think in went unreleased for 22 years because his label feared it would be too "raw and gritty" for his "pop" image.

Yep. It's "visual storytelling", it was Joe's passion, and it's something he instilled in us students. Our job is to tell the story. Pretty or accomplished drawing only counts if it helps serve the story well.
