I don't want to start thinking of holiday products already. And yet I have to :( can't it just be fall and halloween year round...

Oops. I forgot to eat while painting all day 😬 I didn't even put music on... but the birds have been lively outside so they've been keeping me company (I promise I'm gonna eat now 😆)

Me, driving to work and feeling all sad and alone. *bug flies in front of me* And I burst out laughing because at least the bug is keeping me company. You are never truly alone, because bugs exist and I think that is beautiful

I'm following along July Bug Week (a drawing challenge) over instagram. Yesterdays prompt was "bug is slow." Why is almost everyone drawing a slug. Slugs aren't bugs!! It's not Gastropod Week!! 🫠

Seeing posts recommend to me, all about how important nature is, with a blatantly ai photo of nature attached. This is not the way 💀 (happy to see the comments full of people rightfully upset) (please don't use gen ai, it's a bad look for you if you do 😊)

Market organizers should not be allowed to completely ghost everyone who didn't get in their market. At least give the courtesy of announcing that acceptances went out so I can safely assume that weekend is free 🫠 (thankfully most send emails to everyone, in or not)

I wish I had a better camera!!! Pretty sure this was a green frog because I also heard a green frog call right before finding it. Camouflaging in the duck weed. 2 frogs in a day makes for a great day 🤩

Getting a rejection email for a market you were really hoping for sucks when you were super excited for it 🥲 especially when most of your income comes from markets... I should work on my website more I guess 😆

Hi #kidlitartpostcard !! 👋 I’m Amanda, I love illustrating both picture books and board books! Something I would love to illustrate is a book focusing on historical figures in the arts! Which is why I am sharing my new portfolio pieces on the amazing Jane Austen.

Just a quick doodle to let you know where I stand. i may be in Canada, but we can’t pretend we’re above adopting this nonsense. I love my immigrant friends and neighbours, and will always support their right to be here.

Folks, please don’t tell artists they shouldn’t be making or selling their art right now. For many, it’s how they pay the bills. Art is vital during times like this. ALL ART. Whether it’s a protest sign or a book cover or just a beautiful drawing. It’s part of the heart of humanity.

Art isn't created in a void, and it *is* political whether we like it or not. Art is human, and humans are deeply interconnected in a system that either favours you and gives you privilage, or makes it harder for you to survive.

Why is it that I finish an artwork that I had so much fun working on and now I'm like... okay next! Like I take no time to soak in what I just did and already sorta feel over it? Am I disappointed in the art or did I just love the process that much more?

Had a lovely dream last night that society was 100% comfortable with self expression and clothing wasn't gendered. This meant my dream showing my estranged step dad confidently wearing a lovely dress and high boots and honestly. 100% suited him Take that 😅
