I grew up in an evangelical family. From the late 60s to late 70s the church was crazy but relatively benign. As soon as Reagan appeared everything became fully unhinged with End Times and Rapture talk. It was surreal seeing people I cared about turn their religion into a death cult.

In Florida on vacation and heard the GOP governor nominee on a local Jax news show this morning. He complained about home insurance rates and how he wants to solve them. Never once did he mention why the GOP hasn't fix them yet given they've been in control for decades.

I was 55 when the second season of ST:Discovery aired and I got into a huge argument with a stupid MAGA kid of 25 when I told him Star Trek has always been woke. I listed several examples from every series. The kid didn't have a clue.
