What is the strangest book you have ever read? This is mine: a circus freak show family that actively creates mutated humans for their troup. Both compelling and repulsive. Spectacularly awful ending. I sent it to the charity shop immediately, yet 35 years later I still think about it.

Writers have to do what works best for them. I edit as I go along. This helps me when I'm stuck for ideas. I am doing something productive and it often can kick-start my creativity back in gear. And as a bonus, my final edits are not so onerous. But that's just what works for me.
