The Wolf Alice show at Royal Albert Hall needs to be released as a live album. Absolutely top notch performance!!

Did anyone else catch the Rick James “F Yo’ Couch” guy in the background of the Svedka Vodka commercial?

An F1 team (who shall remain nameless) sent me a survey asking about my opinion of AI. It was fine until I got to question #10 here. There’s no “None of the Above” option. Just a bunch of positive sentiments to choose from. Not exactly a true reflection of opinions. #Formula1Sky

An unintended consequence of the death of cursive writing is the fact that there are dedicated people on the internet that have to decode signatures because people can’t read them. If I were a celebrity I’d make sure to sign every letter of my name legibly so future generations would know.

Japanese Breakfast put on a fantastic show last night. A much needed few hours of “melancholy jubilee”. #ConcertThreads

The one record I highly recommend getting from this year’s #RSD25 list is the 30th Anniversary Edition of Belly’s second album, King. This is one of those records that was under appreciated in 1995, but as the years pass and more discover it, it’s recognized as a brilliant piece of art. #VinylSky

Continuing my albums of the year: Nilufer Yanya — “My Method Actor”. The best description of her music comes from my friend Matt who said her sound is “if Sade fronted an indie rock band.” If that doesn’t convince you to give it a listen, I don’t know what else to say.

Ron @ron.bsky.social · 20/12/2024

Next up for my albums of the year is The Last Dinner Party - “Prelude To Ecstasy” I was blown away by this record. “Burn Alive” and “The Feminine Urge” are highlights and that’s before you even get to the lead single, “Nothing Matters” which is ELEVENTH in the playlist if you listen in order. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Continuing with my albums of the year, Jack White’s “No Name”. Quietly slipped into bags at TMR one day with no info or notice. I immediately put it on and listened front to back. Just me and the music. No liner notes or even a tracklist. The most analog of experiences and it was great.

Going to post my 2024 Albums Of The Year over the next few days. These are in no particular order—I don’t like rankings. Today is “Forever” by Charly Bliss. “Calling You Out” and “I’m Not Dead” are the songs that make me sing at the top of my lungs. Give it a listen!

Had a blast last night at Schuler Books talking 90s music and signing copies of “The 501 Essential Albums of the 90s”. The audience got to hear my argument for Belly’s “Star” album to be included as well. We signed an extra 10 copies so you can still get yours!

Post a PERFECT album from the 90's that isn't Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden, or Alice In Chains. ‘King’ by Belly. (10/10)

Shirley Manson and Garbage were phenomenal last night. Played songs I hadn’t heard live in a long time: “Beloved Freak” Run Baby Run” and “Bleed Like Me”. Noel Gallagher’s new songs sounded terrific live (give Council Skies a listen) and Metric(!) opened with a killer set. Live music is therapy.
