That’s a bloody huge win. Mostly lived with Bulls physicality and toughed it. Unbelievable first start by Charlie O’Shea. And he made a couple of mistakes but Gordon Wood was an animal out there

V for Vendetta isn’t just not good, it’s actively bad. Scarface is also crap.

It was a few years ago since I last used it but Rapanui used to have a printing service and the quality was very good

I never feel jealous or feel I want to be part of fan groups I’m not already in. But to be a Mayo person in Mayo this week…

The World Cup final was an absolute pig of a game. But it might not have even been the worst final featuring Spain

Good win for Scotland in the end. They can really enjoy that long, long, long, long flight home from this away game

Plenty of resilience, never collapsed but it’s a double score loss and that game never felt in the balance. A pretty consistent picture over the last two seasons; can’t really lay a glove on the top 3, miles better than the rest

It’s a breath of fresh air from experts who seem to actively dislike their sport

They now have Segner’s brother on co-comms telling stories

Ronan Murphy @romurph.bsky.social · 18/07/2026
I know, it’s very sweet. There are plenty of Irish and British comms and analysts who would do well to express similar levels of enthusiasm and joy for the sport as these lads. My absolute favourite is when they manage to work in references to Casper Gabriel

The German commentators are absolutely beside themselves about Anton Segner

True. I don’t think Andy Farrell sees loses that way though. Especially if it really gets away from them

Ireland are a pretty resilient team but I’m more than a little concerned this morning could turn into a bit of a paddlin’

What an implosion by England. Had it in their hands then plumb lost their minds for 20 mins and ceded the whole thing

That all went fairly to script; a janky performance from Ireland with a bunch of unfamiliar combinations but still strong enough to always have Japan at arms length. Scrum the only major concern. Nice day for the debutants

Ronan Murphy @romurph.bsky.social · 06/07/2026
Since sporting integrity isn’t really a thing anymore let’s send all of these sideways probing jokers home and bring back Cabo Verde or Japan or Brian Brobbey or something

I think Spain and Portugal could achieve the holy grail here; pure footballing horizontality. A pass that is perfectly parallel to the halfway line on a subatomic level

This game is such a turgid midfield-a-thon that I briefly lost any sense of which team was playing in which direction

Ronan Murphy @romurph.bsky.social · 04/07/2026
Ireland very scrappy but dug it out. Another week together and better goal kicking by Australia and they might not have gotten away with that. But I’ll never turn down a win in the southern hemisphere

Genuine question that these articles never address - do most people actually want to retire at 40? www.bbc.com/news/article...

Bulls don’t really have a leg to stand on given how shite they were for 50 odd minutes but as a fan and viewer, I feel short changed by that

Ronan Murphy @romurph.bsky.social · 19/06/2026
The gap was so big it might not alter the outcome but that’s some calamitous officiating in the competition showpiece. We could be looking at a grand stand finish but now the final is going to limp out

Deeply frustrating watching South Africa-Czechia at the World Cup. That could’ve been Ireland stinking out the joint!!

Whatever their relative merits, it’s absolutely bizarre the starting 10 for this final couldn’t get into the European squad a few weeks ago and the sub 10 they entrusted with the second half of that European final hasn’t played a minute since

Ronan Murphy @romurph.bsky.social · 15/06/2026
There are moving parts to it but it’s Leinster contract he was on and it was Leinster that decided against triggering his +1 year and it was Leinster who made the lower contract offer
000
Ronan Murphy @romurph.bsky.social · 13/06/2026
Huge amount of detail here. For all the ire directed at the IRFU and Humphreys seems like it was Leinster themselves that shifted the goalposts on Lowe’s contract

Fair intense but low quality stuff. JGP and Ackerman bail Leinster

Glasgow are a great team to watch but they do tend to burn a lot of energy in attack and they don’t have the bench to sustain it

Fifth URC final, fourth time the Bulls will play in it. Deserved it over the full 80

What is a movie you can only watch once? Literally only watched it once, twentysomething years ago, but it has stayed with me. I oscillate between thinking it’s just the grimmest thing I’ve seen or finding it weirdly uplifting

Some interesting stuff here. Had been wondering what the deal was with Leinster’s communications and turns out they don’t have a head of comms. Which explains at least some of the mad messaging over the last month or so

It doesn’t seem like things are ticking away nicely in the background when the Senior/Head/Whatever-His-Title Coach is out delivering *his* message rather than the team message

After the incredibly tight run-in these quarter-finals have been really disappointing. Connacht and Cardiff had a few moments but the home teams have never looked in real trouble

Post-Exeter I would have been in no way surprised if they lost those last 4 URC games. So to win 3 and get to 5th (with the injuries) was a decent outcome. Tighthead and backup 10 are big concerns but the main thing for me is more clarity about how they want to play

Ronan Murphy @romurph.bsky.social · 30/05/2026
Look, a knock-out game without 7/8 of the ideal 23 is always going to make things tough. And giving up two of the softest tries you’ll see after working your way back into the game will also make things tough

The injury crisis and travel negate holding out too much hope for Munster but will be happy if they can put in a performance, especially the younger guys who did well a few weeks ago

Ronan Murphy @romurph.bsky.social · 29/05/2026
Great game. Connacht not bad by any means but they didn’t hit any of the heights of the last few months. Glasgow look like they’ve recovered from their post-Six Nations wobble

The overall issue for Leinster isn’t *which* 10 to take them to a European Cup, it’s that none of their current crop look to be of that level
000
Ronan Murphy @romurph.bsky.social · 24/05/2026
It’s always a danger with getting the dream job. The other potential issue for him away from the Leinster gig is the fogginess about what his actual role is
