WotC should be more cautious if they don't want Magic to be seen as just glorified gambling. With a few countries either discussing, studying, or at least having some real crimes that could lead to regulations talk, it's a preeeetty bad PR.

Bring Back the Gathering: How to Save Competitive Magic | Articles | Magic: the Gathering - Metagame
Competitive Magic is at a crossroads. Once defined by packed local events, Grand Prix weekends, Pro Points and a clear path from the local store to the Pro Tour, the game has gradually shifted toward a more casual identity. In this article, Andrea Mengucci looks at what Magic: The Gathering could do to rebuild its competitive ecosystem, from Organized Play and format accessibility to better promos, stronger incentives and a renewed focus on giving players meaningful reasons to compete.

It would be simultaneously great and hilarious if Balefur Strix ends up being Pauper legal due to a Secret Lair printing. It could be a great way to introduce downshifts in Pauper without needing Master or Horizon sets.

Here are my three cents. 1) @gavinverhey.bsky.social and the PFP should stop playing to the crowd when it comes to banlist updates. 2) Bans should be based on data/results, not social media comments. 3) Most Magic players always tend to overreact to anything new. www.youtube.com/shorts/q2Vlu...

Hey @magic.wizards.com @magiconline.bsky.social great choice in reversing the MTGO Decklist data changes. I am not sure how you thought that was a good idea, but just remember: we (players, content creators, press, and media) will keep watch. Have a lovely day ;)

When those who should maintain transparency choose to conceal data that should be public, it falls to the press — in Magic, to content creators as well — to speak out, criticize, and unite to investigate and disclose the data they don't want to reveal. mtg.cardsrealm.com/en-us/articl...

MTGO Data Update is an Attack on Competitive Magic
Wizards of the Coast has decided to reduce MTGO's tournament data to "preserve the puzzle." In practice, this will undermine transparency and harm both players and the integrity of Magic: The Gatherin...

Of all Magic events I have played in 15 years, #MTGxFinalFantasy Prerelease was, by far, the most fun. Going undefeated just added a bonus to one of the best days I ever had playing this game Thanks Bolsa do Infinito for hosting such a great and welcoming event to both MTG players and FF fans.
