My latest sewing project has proven VERY CONTROVERSIAL. I’ve never gotten as many compliments from strangers, but also people coming up to me just to tell me they hate it (good-naturedly). Loosely inspired by the Schiaparelli ant suit, but without any of the artistry and much more kitsch.

I recently went on a trip where I decided embroidering whales on a sweatshirt was the perfect thing to do on the plane. #embroidery

My first bead embroidery project is done! It was a lot of trial and error, picking out beads and trying again. The cow looks nothing like I initially wanted it to and the star was a last minute decision. But I still like it!

So I made this embroidery for my mom for Mother’s Day based on this photo of a field of heather in Scotland. (My mom is named Heather and her mother was Scottish.) I sent it to my Dad and he said, “It looks okay. It doesn’t look exactly like the photo.” … Should I light myself on fire?

One of my favorite things that I’ve ever made. Made with a free Closet Core pattern (🇨🇦), entirely from leftovers in my stash, and filled with ~5 years of too-small-to-be-useful fabric and yarn scraps. It also has a zipper on the bottom so I can keep adding to it.

One of the smaller projects from my homemade Christmas, but look at this little stocking ornament I made for my brother’s family for our Christmas Eve ornament exchange. Made from leftovers, so it cost me $0.

A mini patchwork quilted stocking, with a loop for an ornament hook. The patchwork fabrics are all Christmas themed: a holly pattern on a red background, snow covered fir tree in a taupe background, a snowy village on a blue background, Nutcracker ornaments on a green tree background, poinsettias in a dark green background, and tangled Christmas lights on a beige background.
