Sad to hear, but good for her. She could have passed 20 years ago & it would have been a full life. And, if you don't mind: Some of us nerds will know her as Superman's adoptive mother (2006), while she also was in On the Waterfront with Marlon Brando - who played Superman's father in the 78 film.

Thank you. Call me cynical, but I do believe many of the right-wingers in power want the "lower income" populace dead. I'm a fairly good example of how healthcare can benefit not just one but the larger picture - musically speaking. I'm doing something with it. Granted, that doesn't matter, at all.

Never heard of it, thanks for the info. I'll look into it. Not too hopeful though. The clock is ticking. When the healthcare ends, I'll have to stop drumming because I'm always at risk of pushing it too far & risking injury. Without healthcare I'd be screwed. I do believe I'm on borrowed time.

Thx, it was a notice of "work requirements" & if I don't comply the cutoff will be the first of the year. I can't comply. I'm almost 59 with no references due to being disabled & out of work for over 30 years. Broken shoulder on one side, and two tears on the other. Chronic pain throughout.

I was informed in August that my Medicaid would be cut on January 1st. I've had this healthcare for over 30 years. Four surgeries (including shoulder replacement in 2021) and countless other services. Wouldn't have done 2 LPs without it. The only surprise is that the notice came before the midterms.

From NYC - I got a notice last month saying my healthcare would be cut on January 1st, 2027. I've had it for over 30 years. Received four surgeries (including shoulder replacement) and countless other services. Drummer here. I wouldn't have been able to release two albums without it. For sure.

Radio City Music Hall in 1984. I had a mezzanine seat, but a friend got me on the floor. When the band came out the audience went a little crazy. I ran to the front and literally was pushed to sit on the stage for much of the show. Btw, I've been to that location of the October shoot (in 2023)...

Impressive. I never knew this. I'm not a violinist (drums/guitar here), but I've worked with a number of them. And they all say the same thing - you have to practice constantly to be able to do it. There's no taking months or even weeks off. That means this wasn't a trifle of hers.

Thanks. Even before this, not a day went by when I wasn't cursing the amoral degenerate. There's plenty of people in even worse circumstances. Although I may have to stop playing the drums soon, there's no way I would have accomplished all that I have without the surgeries that Medicaid provided.

I just got a notice in the mail "Work Requirements for Medicaid Coverage" that my health insurance will be cancelled on... January 1st, 2027. Unless I can meet disability requirements - which is a big if - even though I've got a broken shoulder on the right side and 2 torn ligaments on the left.
