🧬 Actively Induced Supercoiling Can Slow Down Plasmid Solutions by Trapping the Threading Entanglements 💡 Yet another realization of the active topological glass and a demonstration of how the polymer topology can be used to tune the dynamics 🗞️ Full paper in ACS Nano: pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/...

Peter Košovan @sciencecharles.bsky.social and I @cam.ac.uk have looked at the uptake of peptides by polyelectrolyte brushes. Combining molecular simulations, mean-field calculations and analytically solvable theory we provide a complex picture of the underlying physics: doi.org/10.1021/acsm...

🧬 Check out our latest paper in the PRL: doi.org/10.1103/7fh5... We use computer simulations and analytically solvable theory to study supercoiled DNA plasmids functionalized by pH-responsive groups. We show how charge annealing can reversibly switch the topological twist to writhe and vice versa.
