It is truly terrifying the extent of the flaws in US system of checks and balances that have been exposed and exploited by the last two Trump administrations. A megalomanic President with a compliant congress can quite literally do ANYTHING he wants. There are no guardrails.

If there are any doubts about the US government’s turn toward Fascism, take a clear look at the German government between 1930 and 1933. There are more than a few striking parallels. For now the Judiciary is providing at least some check on the government… but for how long?

The decentralized nature of the US election system actually makes effective voter fraud exceedingly difficult if not impossible. A “Centralized” or “Nationalized” election system would be much more susceptible to effective fraud.
