New York isn't Mamdanistan, it's Mamdanistanstan. That's because -stan means "a place with a lot of XYZ," and NYC has a lot of Mamdani stans. Happy to have a mayor who's actually doing his job!

As of Thursday, ICE-Gestapo was holding over 73,000 people in their concentration camps, a record amount in their disgraceful 23 year history. They aren’t a law enforcement agency, they are a militarized terrorist organization that should have been disbanded long ago.

Sometimes, you have to remove 3 pages of glorious prose bashing Fukuyama and condemning the atrocities of unipolar hegemony because it's "too political" for a writing sample. :(

the thing is that blowing up drug boats is just murder. no law licenses it. it is just war crimes. but to say out loud what the penalty for committing them is puts us in the position of accusing high government officials of capital crimes. it is critically important to be able to say the obvious.

still pullin random files from high school. came across this in something submitted for English class. damn girl what did you get yourself into at 17??

000

rowenac @rohuinac.bsky.social · 02/12/2025

I'm guessing that this was some kind of in joke? There was just a basic essay on utilitarianism in this one.

rowenac @rohuinac.bsky.social · 01/12/2025

another from philosophy class. dear high school senior me, in a quest to attain the examined life, you ended up becoming a media studies academic. you chained yourself to plato's cave.

Found an old (unsuccessful) college essay, too. I was such a little oddball. Enjoying this walk down memory lane and definitely hanging on to these old files, if only for the nostalgia.

Another find from the old drive: this cat, for some reason. It was a different time, 2010.

000

rowenac @rohuinac.bsky.social · 29/11/2025

BIG NOSTALGIA. Found some of my old Furcadia code (dragonspeak) from way back. I was particularly proud of setting up a pleasant soundscape using a randomized element to vary sound effects and play motifs. Can't believe it was on an old drive all this time (also can't believe the drive still works)

A screenshot of Furcadia code, lines 246-289. The code uses a randomized element to play sound at intervals or when characters emote.

Of course, proofs don't always go as planned. Here's a few bloopers which popped out when I accidentally reversed the masking settings. It was supposed to change the areas *around* the tent, but instead it remade the tent into something even more fantastical.

000

rowenac @rohuinac.bsky.social · 21/08/2025

More examples from the workflow process: a base image created with the tent drawing, put through a few more proofs.

000

rowenac @rohuinac.bsky.social · 20/08/2025

A detail to add on top of the last post. Hand-painted tent before and after "proofs" used to smooth out the details a bit.

000

rowenac @rohuinac.bsky.social · 20/08/2025

Still sharing workflow. First image is a color altered version of one of the "plates" to give the sky a dusky/twilight look. Followed by 3 "proofs" testing prompts. Final 2 images are drafts of hand-drawn/hand-painted details to make the tent look right.

000

rowenac @rohuinac.bsky.social · 19/08/2025

Feels like now would also be a good time to share that the model merge used for this workflow is now available on Civitai! civitai.com/models/1865279

000

rowenac @rohuinac.bsky.social · 19/08/2025

Another workflow post. Beginning with the original image, followed by 3 "plates" used for edits.

000

rowenac @rohuinac.bsky.social · 18/08/2025

A peek into my workflow: an original concept generation and six masks used in the process. Getting to a "finished" image takes many hours, but after doing lots of printing in ugrad there's something natural to working in this form for me.

000

rowenac @rohuinac.bsky.social · 17/08/2025

Another from the model merge, considering releasing this relatively soon.
