Reactive & Dynamic Dialogue, and a Better Paced Intro
The intro is now much better paced. Less cinematic, more doing things! Also a deep dive into how Exofactory's reactive dialogue works. It's entirely data driven, with one file per event, an idea stole...

That’s a wrap on Oxidize for this year. I was running the Ferrous table, dipping in and out of the talks, and having a ton of great conversations. Shout out to Sabine, who was hard at work MC’ing both days, and to my colleagues Charlotte, Tobias and Jessie who put so much work in to make it happen.

Automotive, defense, and space are defined by consequence - memory bugs and race conditions there mean cost and delay. #RustLang keeps control while cutting out that whole class of failures. At #Oxidize2026: Volvo Cars, Quantum Systems, and Infinite Orbits on what that looks like in practice.
Promotional graphic for Oxidize, the applied Rust conference in Berlin, Sept 14–16, 2026. The image features the text "Rust in Automotive, Aerospace & Defense" as its title as well as the keynote "Rust as the Foundation for Future Unmanned Systems", the talks "Rust: Batteries Included — Inside Volvo Cars' SmartCell, The Next-Gen EV Battery" and "Rust: To Safely Go Where No One Has Gone Before". The background is light blue with abstract curved shapes, and the Oxidize logo appears at the bottom left.

A last-minute chance to test hardware in space - and no time for embedded Linux. Michaël Melchiore (@rohelfr.bsky.social) from Infinite Orbits shares how Rust's embedded ecosystem helped his team move fast without cutting corners on safety. 🔗 oxidizeconf.com/sessions/rus... #RustLang #EmbeddedRust

Funny thing: your Rust team probably uses #bacon, #broot, #dysk, or #lazy_regex daily. I'm their author — freelance, available, based in Lyon (remote-friendly). If your company hires #Rust developers and you value open-source, let's talk. Or just boost this. 🦀 dystroy.org

for an idea of how big a deal this is, my mom was in great shape when she got diagnosed and she lasted less than sixty days. six years is insane.

There’s an aspect of the Innovator‘s Dilemma in this. C++ is recommitting to their existing high value product of stability and control, while being disrupted by advancements in safety that will eventually cause them to lose market share and decline.
